NorthDakotaHockey
From today's Virg Foss article in the Heardit . . . . In addition, Hakstol said that freshman forward Rylan Kaip is sidelined indefinitely with what is thought to be post-concussion syndrome. "We don't know when the injury occurred, and they don't know exactly what it is," Hakstol said Masson and Fabian back. Brandt and Kaip out. A bummer around these parts. Kaip, from where we sit, grinds hard every shift, is well-liked and respected by his mates, and does a good job of making positive things happen on the ice. Same things can be said of Jake. Hopefully, Kaip will be back in the line-up soon as his star on the Sioux horizon is bright. Hopefully, Brandt will be back in time to carry this team on his back to the Final Five, the West Regional, and beyond.
siouxhockey5
Just wondering if you were serious about Brandt coming back to lead the team to the final five and regional tournaments? Siouxhockey5
NorthDakotaHockey
Just wondering if you were serious about Brandt coming back to lead the team to the final five and regional tournaments? Siouxhockey5 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Absolutely. We are BIG Brandt fans. Nothing wrong with Lammy or Jordan, but Brandt is our man. Sadly, perhaps, we do not have Hak's ear on this one. dagies
Get well quickly, Rylan. This sounds serious.
Goon
Just wondering if you were serious about Brandt coming back to lead the team to the final five and regional tournaments? Siouxhockey5 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah we all needed a chuckle this morning. My hunch is Brandt will play on senior night and maybe one other series. Rumor has it is that he is not playing much this season and wasn't ever really in the mix.
Fedorov
Rumor has it is that he is not playing much this season and wasn't ever really in the mix. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which of course makes no sense given that he has had more success than JPar or Phil. Fedorov
Do we really need to start this again? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is annoying to hear any comments about Brandt when he has done NOTHING poorly in GAME experience. We have rumors about attitude and practice performance, but we have no facts. It makes no sense to me why people bash Brandt when he has played very well in his career. I would also point out that I'm not saying Goon's post about Brandt is bashing him. I just don't understand why anyone would continue to play JPar this year. Phil has proven to be much better, and without given Brandt a chance, he may be better than Phil as well.
Superman0099
Too bad to see that. Good luck to Kaip and Brandt in their recovery. I really liked what I saw from Kaip. Hard working player that you love to have on your team, makes positive things happen. Similar to Rory McMahon when he first came to UND, lets hope Kaip and Brandt can both make a speedy recoveries and can get back into the lineup this year. The Sicatoka
Get Massen and Fabian back and now Kaip goes down.
redwing77
Hi! It's your friendly "stick up for the guy being bashed" redwing77 here! I'm going to say this: First off, we should be worried with Kaip's condition. PCS has ended or threatened to end several hockey players' careers in the past. This isn't an MCL tear or a shoulder problem. This could be far more serious in that we could lose Kaip PERMANENTLY if it is serious enough. I feel for the guy, seeing as how he was drafted (9th round, but still...) and he has been very consistent the whole year so far. As for JPar, let's just say that I understand Brandt's history, but I'm sticking behind JPar. He's solid enough to be our #2. I love his glove hand. Bash away at JPar, I think he's going to be fine.
