Sounds like nick schmaltz has played along side Matthews before.

If you want to draw any conclusions from Team USA's summer camp forward lines, Eichel played between Motte and Tuch; Matthews played between Schmaltz and Hayden; and Larkin played between Milano and Fasching.

Wonder if the best 15' prospect in the world will be ready for the wjt?

@TSNBobMcKenzie: McDavid's injury occurred 4 weeks ago Tues (Nov. 11). Original prognosis was 5 to 6 weeks. CAN WJC camp opens Thurs. Tourney starts Dec. 26.

Nick Schmaltz, C – University of North Dakota (NCHC)

Bragging rights are on the line in the Schmaltz clan as younger bro Nick has tied older sibling Jordan with 14 points on the season. But Nick has done it in just 13 games and is riding a five-game point streak, which should buoy the quick and talented forward at Team USA’s world junior camp. Drafted 20th overall by Chicago in 2014.

Thanks! Guessing they start the camp soon

10am this morning I think.  I was looking through the roster, they are going to have to make some tough cuts.  I believe they need to cut 5-7 forwards.  I can count 3-4 that are probably going to get cut but I have no clue on the others.  If Schmaltz is cut I'm calling shenanigans.  I'm still mad about J. Schmaltz getting gut during the preliminaries several years back (to make matter worse it was Lucia who cut him).

JScmaltz's offensive upside is undisputed. I don't know how well he'd have held up his end in the d zone against the best players in the world back then- he's still inconsistent there against NCAA competition. I guess it depended on the team composition desired...it's generally smart in that tourney to only go with 2 offensive dmen...you generally want two balanced pairings and a shut down pair

I'm sure oisecki has a nice vibe with nick schmaltz. Didn't Jordan decommitt after he left sconnie?

Oisecki is a good follow @Osiecki24

@mikemorrealeNHL: Jim Johannson said first rd of cuts will be after the U.S. Jr Team match vs BU on Friday. How many plyrs are released is TBD...

If anyone has any more good twitter handles for the wjt please post them

I don't think Canada has won it for 6 years or so. This is he Super Bowl north of the border unless the Olympics are going.

@TPS_Guy: Canada is 4 for 10 as hosts (winning gold). @DuckMillard @TSN1260

@TPS_Guy: The other hosts to win were the Soviets in 1983 and Finland in 1998. Canada won at home in '91, '95, '06 and '09.@DuckMillard @TSN1260

Funny tweet referring to gf when they hosted ha

@TPS_Guy: . @jtmcwoo @DuckMillard @TSN1260 Good call, it was pretty much Grand Forks, SM. (South Manitoba)

Hanifin (BC) suppose to be 3rd pick after mcdavid and Eichel. Anyone know of the others goalies besides demko on USA? Will all 5 BC guys make the team?

There are like 3-5 Michigan guys too I believe.  Both BC and Mich are having pretty average years...I hope that doesn't mean we flame out.
