Cratter Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 More tough competition in the Big Sky = more pressure to fire jones. Quote
nodakhoops Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Not a Big Sky score but some UND connections on TV tonight. UND alum and Stephen MN native Craig Smith and USD are up at the half on Creighton and former UND assistant Greg Mcdermott. Always thought Smith would've been a nice fit at UND. A couple other connections are his top assistant was our assistant coach from the last 3 years that we couldn't keep. Trey Burnette from Williston St. who unofficialed to UND a few times last year dropped 16 in the first half for USD. USD will probably lose pace in the second half, but a nice first half for coach Smith. We should get them on the non conference schedule. Quote
sioux2013 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Eastern Washington went on the road and handed San Francisco their first home loss of the year. I would have to think Eastern Washington is definitely the team to beat in the Big Sky if they stay healthy. Big Sky teams seem to be doing a lot better this year in out of conference games. Quote
jdub27 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Big Sky is 29-48 in OOC play so far this year. Last year they ended at 23-62. No clue the difference in difficulty in schedule, but there have been more quality wins this year than I recall last year. Numbers are D-1 opponents only. Quote

Eastern Washington has some nice wins over SF, Indiana and Seattle. Their only loss is to SMU. San Francisco was picked 4th in the WCC, which is a pretty good conference. EWU has to be the new favorite to upset Weber. Quote

darell1976 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 EWU lost by 4. UND needs to be this competitive to ranked teams. Quote
UND1983 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Northern Arizona just beat St. Marys on the road. St. Marys is a pretty damn good team and just beat Creighton a few days ago. Quote
ArtVandalay Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 EWU hammered by Sam Houston. SH not bad this year. Bit of a let down game I guess after tough loss to Washington. Quote

Could be some great conference competition with our schools getting OOC road wins against big name schools. Quote
