number1UNDfan Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 25-21, dropped the first set. Quote
SiouxVolley Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 UND is hitting at a pretty good clip, but they can't get blocks because Iowa is so tall. Iowa 11-6 Quote
number1UNDfan Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Yeah, blocking is non-existent. Quote
number1UNDfan Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 25-21, lost the second set. Played really well toward the end, but just not enough. Quote

Dustin Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Good weekend for the girls. Too bad we couldn't give Iowa an even harder run for their money. Quote
SiouxVolley Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Good weekend for the girls. Too bad we couldn't give Iowa an even harder run for their money. According to Pryor, Iowa ran some things that UND can't simulate in practice. It's very hard to beat to top 50 team when you have no history with those opponentss. Pacific will probably be more difficult than Iowa this weekend. Mississippi State will be at home, but UND has a good shot of beating their first P5 opponent. Quote
number1UNDfan Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Heard some rumbling that they need to make some adjustments to blocking against some of these bigger teams. It will be interesting to see how things go with Pacific and just the number of games on top of the travel. Building endurance. Quote
SiouxVolley Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Some impressive statistics from the NCAA: Faith Dooley leads the nation in blocks, with 68. Nikki Husfeldt is third nationally in assists, with 477. McKenzie Hart is sixth nationally in digs, with 229. Lexi Robinson is 15th in total attacks, with 443. In per set statistics, UND is much lower. A bad statistic for UND: they are one of the worst teams in the nation for scoring aces. Quote

We probably have played more sets than other good teams, so our overall statistics would tend to baloon. As for the aces - not serving aces doesn't bother me that much, as long as other teams aren't serving aces against us. Quote

nodak651 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 4 aces in first set - rare for und Quote
