The Second-Half Surge: Math or Myth?

Johnson and LaDue are locks for all rookie team

Thompson and Stecher will warrant consideration

Goth berg and Simpson are locks on conference honors

Schmaltz, parks, and Rocco will warrant consideration

Nicely done boys- rookies doing great, which is the correlation back to this thread.

Also- who'd have thought Tambellini and Murphy not in lineup...

From Wikipedia:

Ski-U-Mah (pronounced sky-you-ma) is a slogan used at the University of Minnesota since 1894.

U of M Rugby captain John Adams who coined the phrase in 1884, had heard Sioux boys yell "ski-yoo!" when they won canoe races on Lake Pepin. He took that as the Sioux word for victory, or exultation. A co-captain added the "mah" to make it rhyme with "rah" and created "Ski-U-Mah!"

So it is yet another COPY of Sioux lore by Minnesota.

In other words, petey 23 is correct: Roll Terd.....

Yep and the university for the advancement of hypocrisy..UMtc...has a policy barring themselves from playing teams with native american imagery but yet has this SIOUX based expression on equipment. They don't even see their own idiocy..... ;)

In talking with several fans/friends over the weekend about this season, I see many people are very thrilled about Hakstol’s coaching job and the epic surge the team has had since November 30th. The latter half of the season was all conference match-ups (except for Bemidji), and mostly against teams who aren’t even in the Top 20 Nationally

The surge is always fun to watch but should be done so with an objective eye, especially when going into the Natty on a bubble. All too often the bubble bursts prematurely and then the "fire Hak" talk gets tossed around the internet.

Vermont – 11th

Miami – 40th

St. cloud – 4th

Omaha – 26th

Duluth – 20th

BU – 44th

St. Lawrence – 29th

W. Mich – 21st

N. Mich – 29th

CC – 51st

Bemidji – 45th

Denver – 27th

Omaha – 26th

Miami – 40th

Duluth – 20th

St. Cloud – 4th

W. Mich – 21st

You are correct and many people have considered this, they went on a run however their schedule (on paper) was quite easy. However, I think this is a year we will probably never see again, the fact that we are playing in the NcHC should have helped us in the pairwise not hurt us. But the NCHC's non conference record is bad. Real fans know how good this conference is....it's a gauntlet.
