Fading Memory...or North Dakota Media Guide Incorrect?

10/15/88 shows a home 5-4 win over Northern Michigan.

I'm going to sit down tonight and examine all tie games UND was involved in from 1988 to 1992. Not sure where I'd ever begin to find a boxscore.

Are the old Herald articles electronically searchable?

For those doubting my elephant-like memory when it comes to hockey, I recall Moscow Dynamo rolling into town in 88-89 and Justin Duberman recording a hat trick in what was a very entertaining 5-7 loss for the Sioux. Commie b*stards!

Lot of chances to hear "Justin Doooooooooooooooooooobermannnnn"

In 55 all-time meetings, UND and Northern Michigan have tied three times:

Oct. 20, 1990 in Marquette (5-5)

Jan. 11, 1992 in Marquette (6-6)

Dec. 11, 1992 in Grand Forks (2-2)

Hope this clears things up or wins some wagers.

Any record anywhere of the biggest comeback in team history?

Unfortunately, our record books do not include "largest deficit overcome in a victory" but that's something we absolutely need to research and add in future years. The UMD game you reference on Jan. 11, 1986 might not represent the largest deficit overcome, but certainly could qualify as the most improbable comeback.

UND trailed 7-3 with 2:56 left in the third period before scoring four goals in a 2:41 span to force overtime, two by Brian Williams and one each by Scott Koberinski and Chris Jensen. Ian Kidd deflected a Glen Klotz shot 50 seconds into overtime for the winner.

Wow, that would have been a ridiculous game to be at... hopefully everyone stuck around.

How does one d deflect the shot of another d? Maybe because on of the ds (Kidd) never could remember what position he played.

I was listening to that game on the radio while removing 40 year-old wallpaper from our dining room wall. It made an unpleasant job fun......at least from the point where they scored their 4th goal.
