  1. Forgive me for butting in, but this is a very valid suggestion. I have no idea if it's something that's previously been discussed internally over here, but I'll certainly run it up the chain for discussion in future years.
  2. This is incorrect. The only away games included with your UND Insider subscription are ones hosted by schools who, like us, use Neulion (and are willing to share their webcast). It was never advertised that "all schools use Neulion," at least not by UND Athletics.
  3. From our media guides, files and archives here in the UND Athletics Media Relations office. Most don't know this, but before folks like myself were called 'media relations directors,' we were known as 'sports information directors.' Preserving historical archives with information like this is actually one of my primary functions. We have a box score for every game going back to at least the mid-60s. Before that, the information becomes much more scarce.
  4. Unfortunately, our record books do not include "largest deficit overcome in a victory" but that's something we absolutely need to research and add in future years. The UMD game you reference on Jan. 11, 1986 might not represent the largest deficit overcome, but certainly could qualify as the most improbable comeback. UND trailed 7-3 with 2:56 left in the third period before scoring four goals in a 2:41 span to force overtime, two by Brian Williams and one each by Scott Koberinski and Chris Jensen. Ian Kidd deflected a Glen Klotz shot 50 seconds into overtime for the winner.
  5. In 55 all-time meetings, UND and Northern Michigan have tied three times: Oct. 20, 1990 in Marquette (5-5) Jan. 11, 1992 in Marquette (6-6) Dec. 11, 1992 in Grand Forks (2-2) Hope this clears things up or wins some wagers.
  6. Thanks for the heads-up -- I made the edit.
  7. Just received a couple of important updates from NeuLion a few minutes ago: 1. The Android app was published this afternoon and should be available shortly, if it isn't already. 2. As a gesture of goodwill following last Saturday's iPhone issues, NeuLion will make tomorrow night's game available to UND Insider subscribers on the iPhone and Android apps (mobile streaming of road games would not typically be made available as part of that subscription). Remember that there are no online or mobile streaming options for tonight's game, though, because it is a CBS Sports Network game. CBSSN is also available on DirecTV (channel 221) and DISH Network (158).
  8. I will try to get some answers on that.
  9. We'll have to check with NeuLion, but Schill seems to believe it was system-wide.
  10. Correct. Android app coming soon, but not ready yet. You should, however, be able to watch on your Android through your web browser.
  11. The gist of it is that the launch of the iPad app must go through the University, and the process has taken some time. We were able to deal directly with NeuLion to implement the iPhone app.
  12. The iPad app is still in development, unfortunately. When ready, we will be sure to make a formal announcement.
  13. I just went into the app on my iPhone and that game is now showing up. So if it wasn't accessible for you before, it should be now.
  14. FYI: The events now appear under the Live queue on the app.
  15. Yes, you must have a UND Insider subscription to view live events. You need to upgrade (in-app) to the premium version of the app and then sign in with your active UND Insider account.
  16. If you've already purchased the 2013-14 premium upgrade, you won't need to do so again.
  17. It is the same app, but the upgrade must be purchased and you must be sure to purchase this year's app. Last year's app will not feature the live video: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/und-sports/id381335872?mt=8
  18. Hello again, friends. Had a very productive conference call with NeuLion this morning that went just shy of 30 minutes. A few notable things: Phone Apps The iPhone was supposed to be, and should have been, ready for the Manitoba game and, obviously, was not. This was a human error on NeuLion's end for which they have taken full responsibility. It's also an error that has been rectified, and the iPhone app WILL be ready for this weekend's Vermont series. A reminder, that only our HD events can be viewed through this app. A listing of HD broadcasts for men's hockey can be found here: http://www.undsports.com/SportSelect.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=13500&SPID=6405&SPSID=58682. A listing of HD broadcasts for women's hockey can be found here: http://www.undsports.com/SportSelect.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=13500&SPID=6403&SPSID=58671. Unfortunately the Android app is not quite ready yet, although they will be giving us an update on that in the next couple of days. As of right now, I have no idea whether this app will be ready for the Vermont series. Hopefully we can answer that in the coming days. In the meantime, Android viewers can still watch live broadcasts by utilizing the web browser on their device. Technical Support NeuLion implores all users who encounter issues with webcasts to contact Fan Support at fansupport@neulion.com immediately. They prefer you do this during the webcast as opposed to after, so their reps can better assist you and attempt to troubleshoot your problem(s). They also remind all users to make sure they are using the most recent version of your web browsers and to make sure your Flash software is sufficiently updated. This is basic info for many of you, but it may help some users who are new to the webcasts this year. Other Issues NeuLion is looking into the 13 specific help tickets that were submitted on Sunday night to see if there were any common issues that might be able to be addressed. That will include the problem everyone seems to have encountered during the penalty-shot. That issue appeared to be system-wide, and they are looking into it. One thing that gets thrown around on here a lot is the question of increased traffic. I can assure everyone that increased traffic is not an issue, and is not the cause for any individual issues. NeuLion's clients include the NFL, NBA, NHL, ESPN, UFC and several major collegiate programs such as LSU football. They are more than sufficiently equipped to handle the viewership for our hockey webcasts. I will relay more information, including an update on the Android app, as we get it. Jayson
  19. I'm no mod, but I kindly ask that we keep this thread on topic so you folks can better get your webcast questions answered. The less ancillary stuff we have to sift through, the easier it will be to address your feedback. Thanks.
  20. Matt offered no solution because he didn't have one, unfortunately. Matt does not operate and execute our apps, Neulion does. We were told the iPhone app would be up and running in time for the Manitoba game and when it wasn't, there was literally nothing Matt could have done to fix the problem. We have a conference call with Neulion this morning about this particular issue, so hopefully we can get some answers ASAP on this. We will also follow up with them on behalf of our viewers who had problems with the live stream. As I mentioned earlier, we received 13 help desk tickets out of about 1300 viewers, so we will ask Neulion if there were common themes or issues with the complaints, possible solutions, etc.
  21. This is a good suggestion and is actually something we've tried to do. If you go to UNDsports.com and click on the 'TV/Radio' tab, the drop-down menu should offer information for virtually any way you are trying to watch our programming, including mobile. I encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with that page, but to let us know if there are questions in there that are NOT answered.
  22. Neulion is moving away from Flash to HTML5, which will allow all UND Insider programming to be viewed through tablet browsers. It is currently in the test phase and should be available in the near future.
  23. I was actually referring to feedback on the webcast, since that's what the thread was titled, but if there were broadcast issues, I guess we can include that too. I know there was one mix-up on a TV timeout where Midco went to break but the on-ice officials did not. Other than that, we haven't received any TV-related feedback on the game. You may have to adjust your picture settings, even on a new TV. It was very much broadcast in HD -- we had it on in the press box as well -- and while we did receive complaints about the webcast, the only feedback we got last night on the HD TV broadcast was positive. Usually when there are broadcast issues, we hear about them loud and clear as they're happening
  24. Folks, Please keep the feedback coming on this thread. It will help me monitor it in one location and I'll be checking it regularly. Everything checked out fine on our end minus the one hiccup during the penalty shot that everyone else seemed to encounter as well. The majority of our feedback was good, with a good number reporting great experiences (again, minus the penalty shot hiccup). However, some viewers on here also reported average-to-poor experiences and this is not lost on us. If you had issues, I urge you to convey your specific problems to customer support online (http://www.undsports...DB_OEM_ID=13500) or by phone (1-877-967-3267) and we can have Neulion look into it for you. If anyone is curious, we had 1300 online viewers for last night's game compared to 300 for last year's exhibition game against Manitoba. Of those 1300, we received 13 help desk requests. If you are a returning customer, we appreciate your support and if you are a new webcast customer, we appreciate your willingness to give it a try. By utilizing the feedback options listed above, we can do our best to rectify any issues you might have going forward.
