hockeyfan19 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Looking to go to Denver in Janary, any advice on where to get game tickets, what seats are good, hotels to stay at, bars/resturants to visit etc?? Any info would be much appreciated!! Quote
keikla Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 There are a couple bars right by the DU campus (can't remember names), but your best bet for going out post-game is in the downtown/16th St mall area. It's a quick and easy lightrail ride from DU. For hotels, I strongly recommend either staying downtown or somewhere very close to a lightrail station. It's significantly more convenient (even if you aren't drinking) when you don't have to worry about driving everywhere. Quote
Hayduke Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Colorado is the microbrew capital of the U S of A. Best beer in America. Imbibe and enjoy! Quote
southpaw Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I've always purchased my DU tickets on Stubhub.com. I like the seats on the glass and can usually get someone's season tickets for $40 each. Price tends to drop as the games get closer, obviously. Quote
UNDColorado Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Tour a brewery during the day if you get time. Here is a good place to start: http://www.denver.org/dining-nightlife/bars-clubs/denver-brewery-tours Not really a bad seat in Magnus. Last season my family sat in the season ticket section right behind Gwozs' family. They didn't like us too much. Or since the series in in January get up early and go skiing! Quote
siouxfaninseattle Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Go to the Campus Lounge. Its a real dive but great hockey bar. The owner (Jim Wiste) played at DU and in the NHL for a few years. Its about 2 miles north of the DU campus. Quote
Hayduke Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 If you got kids with you...two words. Casa Bonita. It's hokey, but nearby. Kids love it. Black Bart will be waiting fer ye...arrrrgghh... Quote
ScottM Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Try to spend some time in the LoDo area. Very cool stores, restaurants and bars in a very well done part of town. Quote
Hayduke Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Try to spend some time in the LoDo area. Very cool stores, restaurants and bars in a very well done part of town. Excellent point! I remember the "old days" before Coors Field. LoDo had a few nightclubs and bars, but overall it was a scary warehouse district. Coors Field changed everything. I never supported building the new Mile High or whatever they call it now. 8 home games? Not worth it. But, 80+ home games for baseball...all worth it. Thus, we now have this great area around Coors Field. El Chaputapec if you love jazz. It is about 3 blocks east of Coors Field and has been there forever. Quite a history of jazz music there. It was a stopover bar for great musicians to play between New York, Chicago, KC and the west coast. Quote
NOCO SIOUX Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 For anyone who is looking for tickets to this series....Single game tickets go on sale Friday September 6th at 9am MST. Quote
R_Schneider_4 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Does anyone know if there are any fan bus trips from Grand Forks/Fargo? The one out of Bismarck got cancelled. Quote
