108498
Does anyone know if there is a student radio station for student internships? Maybe one of these stations are located close to campus on bike.
Teeder11
Does anyone know if there is a student radio station for student internships? Maybe one of these stations are located close to campus on bike. XL 93 (92.9) sometimes has UND talent on the air. It's a pop-rock station and not much for UND sports other than mentioning upcoming games and sometimes interviewing athletes on-air. It's about a mile and half east of campus on University Avenue in the Clear Channel headquarters. The other radio conglomerate, Leighton Broadcasting, is way the hell out in Walle Township about 4 miles south of Grand Forks City Limits. They also have been known to have UND students on the air. The Sicatoka
You are able to post here but not do a simple internet search for an FM station operated by Prairie Public Radio and Television? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KFJM
The Sicatoka
Want to know if you're covered? http://www.radio-locator.com/ Enter the call letters of the station and after a couple clicks you'll be able to bring up a coverage map for the station. GeauxSioux
Weren't they before? I didn't realize. Perhaps they were, but there likely some small pockets that weren't being covered. I could be wrong, but I don't think KFYR did UND football last year. Combine that with the increased wattage of WDAY and I think any small pocket that wasn't getting covered will be now. KFJM was airing on FM long before 1995... I know. I was a student slave there back in the day its major format was classical music.

charliepic
Haven't seen what the contract is worth? Anyone know what Clear Channel is paying UND athletics? Isn't the set up UND pays CC for the air time and sells the ads?

The Sicatoka
Isn't the set up UND pays CC for the air time and sells the ads? I know NDSU does their own production, buys air time on stations, and then sells their own ads. I don't know if UND does that.
charliepic
I know NDSU does their own production, buys air time on stations, and then sells their own ads. I don't know if UND does that. They have before like last year. Remember the basketball announcer Ralston they suspended?
The Sicatoka
The ralston situation does not confirm the other question. Long ago when I know it was all production by radio (not UND) UND still had right of refusal on air talent.
WeAreNorthDakota
Radio ad sales and production are all UND's responsibility.

KFYR is the home of University of Mary sports. When Marauders were not playing, Bison football was on. UND was sometimes on a sister station. I suspect that will be the same this year.
