SWSiouxMN Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 UND heads out on their last regular season road swing of the year, making its first stop out to Portland State to take on the Vikings. The first meeting was a very well played ball game between the two squads and both teams shot very well from the field. A perfect effort at the line for UND proved to be a big difference maker. While Portland sits at 5-11, they do a very good job when they play at home. All 5 conferences wins were on the home court. If the Vikings have any hope to get back into the fight for playoff position, then a sweep is a must. UND holds down the 3rd seed by a half a game over SUU. To some surprise, UND has done alright on the road, holding a 4-4 record in Big Sky play (compare to the rest of the conference that is up near the top). If they are going to get 2 big road wins and could clinch the 3rd seed with that result, they will need to play very well. Hopefully we are finally at full health for this one Other games MSU (7-9) @ SUU (8-8) UNC (7-10) @ EWU (6-10) Weber (14-2) @ Sac St (7-9) ID ST (4-12) @ NAU (7-9) Off: Montana (15-1) Quote
sioux2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Once again we will not have our full team. Bad news is Schuler is still out but good news is that Brekke will be playing. Schuler's issue has got to be more than just muscle spasms, its too bad we really need him. Quote

Schuler's issue has got to be more than just muscle spasms, its too bad we really need him. Gotta start somewhere I guess. Huge to have Brekke back because he will be needed for the bigger bodies that PSU and EWU will throw at us. Hopefully we can get him 3 good games before we head to the tourney. Did Schuler travel with the team or stay back in GF? Quote

PSU and EWU on the road will not be easy at all. I believe PSU has won 3 in a row and won big. I'd hope they would not travel Schuler and keep him back for more re-hab. Maybe they are just making sure he is 100% for tournament at this point. Quote
NODAK13 Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 This is no doubt going to be a couple of tough road games. With the way these teams are playing and we are still not at full strength I would be more than happy with a split. I believe both games will once again be decided by 2-3 points like every game we've played lately. Quote
the green team Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 If we play good D, and rebound- that hopefully will give us a chance in a road contest. As a road team, you'll most likely have ups and downs on the offensive end, but if you rebound and play D, it can help stem a few of those cold spells. Quote
bincitysioux Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Vikings come in as the winners of three straight. We've lost 2 of 3......... Quote
FSSD Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Finishing up homework with the kids and now I am ready for some basketball.. I love the late start times. Quote
bincitysioux Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I also enjoy the later start times for the road games....... Quote
FSSD Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Wow, PSU has a fairly small line up.. do they push the pace.. Quote
Teeder11 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 First media time out ... PSU at the line for two. Quote
Teeder11 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 23-16 UND. 7:31 to go in first. PSU at the line for the and 1. Quote
FSSD Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Come on Webb a simple lay up missed - now it goes back the other way for a bucket and -1 foul on Brandon.. Quote
Teeder11 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 26-21. 3:20 to go in first half. UND leads. UND playing with good defensive hustle tonight and hitting 3s fairly well. Just can't shake PSU, though. PSU leading scorer Hartun in early foul trouble. Quote
Teeder11 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 26-23 UND about a minute left in first. UND has not scored since 5:50 in first. Quote
FSSD Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 SUU - lost tonight. If UND wins they would be in good shape. Quote
FSSD Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 6 min drought at the end of the half - 28 25 UND half time Quote
NODAK13 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 28-25 und at half. I think we scored only 5 points in the last 8 minutes. We don't seem to be shooting very well. Antwi is 1-6 with 3 turnovers, Huff 1-5,Benton 1-4. Antwi is sure taking a lot of shots in the last several games and not shooting good at all. Quote
Teeder11 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 28-25. UND leads at half. UND never trailed but went six minutes at the end without scoring. Webb finally drove the lane with 5 seconds to go to hit one. Brekke is struggling a bit. He's been a non-factor. Anderson, Antwi and Benton have all hit from 3 point land. PSU is 0 - about 8 from 3 point stripe. Quote
Teeder11 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 UND's good D and timely shooting early in the half kept them in the lead. PSU will adjust. Brekke and Huff have to pick it up in this half. Good thing is were in relatively ok shape foul wise. Quote
bincitysioux Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 UND shooting 38% and already has 8 turnovers. Not a recipe for road success.......... Quote
MoSiouxFan Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 On the other hand, limiting your opponent to 25 pts. in a half on the road IS a recipe for success . Now, if we can just approach that in the second half.... Quote
Teeder11 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 PSU radio guy signs off to commercial, and then asks the in-studio producer "How long is this break?" Producer: "Three minutes" PSU radio guy: "Ok, good, I gotta pee!" He should get suspended for that kind of off-color language. Quote
