darell1976
So much for that. Guess everyone will work in restaurants here. 144 people out of work. I worked there in 1997 after the flood. Its too bad.

Goon
You are correct, Allegiant would not be in Grand Forks if not for the Canadians coming down to use the airport. We can also probably thank them for the new air service to Denver from United that starts in October. The airport has tapped into the Canadian market and taken a small piece away from Winnipeg. Most of these travelers are from the area between Winnipeg and the border. I am actually surprised that we don't have a flight from Winnipeg to Grand Forks, ND. 82SiouxGuy
I am actually surprised that we don't have a flight from Winnipeg to Grand Forks, ND. Since it's only a couple of hours by car you probably wouldn't get a lot of people using airline service.
watchmaker49
I am actually surprised that we don't have a flight from Winnipeg to Grand Forks, ND. Why? You can drive it faster and cheaper and haul your booty home easier by car.
SiouxVolley
42nd St is really filling in. Crown Colony to be demolished and replaced with commercial / apartment complex. In the 80's, Crown Colony was the prime entertainment complex, with the Colony Theaters, restaurants, bars, etc. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/260616/

Bill, Ted, and Walter finally got their number and Opp decided finally the market was ready. Bill, Ted, and Walter own all of the building and lot except for the piece a bank owns of what was Shangri La. BTW owns about 85% of the building and lot. I suppose someone here will tell me I am wrong.

This has been in the works for awhile. Hence, why they have not been trying anything.

Such good times there.

I've lived nearby for 3 years, went to the dunder all of twice, and actually forgot campus liquors existed. win win win for all involved. Such good times there. i think the rock died around 2006, right around when JB's opened and the uptown/downtown reopened and orealys and level10. I think grandforks nightlife, at least for the college age crowd, is pretty solidified downtown now.

Take it in context of what is happening further south on 42nd. Maybe you haven't read the papers on how little housing there is available in Grand Forks? http://www.prairiebizmag.com/event/article/id/13087/ http://gfplanning.weebly.com/the-grove---campus-crest-apartments.html
watchmaker49
how do you know? are you there accountant or banker? I've been friends with Ted for years. They are getting a lot more than Big Daddy's got or what Josh or Dan got for the their downtown bars. Or what Wayne, Charlie, Lloyd, and Wayne's widow got for the Diamond.
