The university was also recently awarded R1 status. Sports: Proposed updates to the golf course, working with the city to expand entertainment and housing options. They made the difficult decision to cut men’s and women’s tennis. The only programs that really still need facility help are the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center and soccer. They are also in the process of creating a new campus master plan for the next round of updates. I believe the golf thing will be doa when it’s gets to county commission Quote

I think they came up with a reasonable approach for the development, and the time is now with all the work already happening in that area. I’m not a taxpayer in Grand Forks, and I can respect those who vote against it. Trust me, I get the pros and cons of TIF/PILOT programs. In this case, the community gets another entertainment option. I live in the Cities, where everything seems focused on paying for housing with little to no return for the general public atleast in my community. Quote
