PCM
I don't know how many of you have received the latest issue of Sioux Illustrated, but I picked up a copy in the press box Saturday night. There's an interview with Zach Parise that includes an interesting question and answer. SI: Are you aware of the thousands of experts on Internet message boards who seem to have it down to the minute as to when you'll be leaving UND? ZP: Yeah, these people on the message boards think they know everything - they should be coaching. Some of the stuff that's said on there is pretty stupid and you're almost wasting your time reading it. There you have it. Some of you people are really ticking off Zach. Knock it off already. There are also two important points we can take away from this. First, Zach has issued an open invitation for us to help coach the Sioux. We can do that. Second, the key word in Zach's statement above is "almost." If he wasn't reading the message boards himself, he wouldn't know that it's "almost" a waste of time to read them. So don't feel guilty about reading the rumors, gossip and speculation posted here because Zach has sort of endorsed it.

sioux fan in phoenix
He should realize that middle-aged men need their escapism, too. Message boards are healthier & less expensive than Internet porn...so I've been told...
MinnesotaNorthStar
He should realize that middle-aged men need their escapism, too. Message boards are healthier & less expensive than Internet porn...so I've been told... You can find free porn if you search long enou.....nevermind . Zach's gotta be at least flattered that the POI crowd refers to him as "god." I think he used the word almost because he's addicted to the board...like the majority of people on here. Zach (if you ignored PCM's warning, which I'm sure you did)...We need to predict stuff...it makes us feel more important than we actually are if we're right. Oh, and I DO know everything...get used to it

It will be interesting this year to see how ZP's and TV's sophmore years compare...wanna place a few bets?!?! WPoS

PCM
I don't quite remember anyone predicting the exact minute he will be leaving UND. I'm predicting that he'll be at UND for six years, just like Joe Wilson. How's that for my 1,000th post?
schmidtdoggydog
It will be interesting this year to see how ZP's and TV's sophmore years compare...wanna place a few bets?!?! WPoS With Parise skating with Bochenski and Murray and UND's improved depth which should take some of the pressure off ZP's line, I am sure there are many people on this board that would be willing to place a few bets! dagies
I think most of us WANT to coach the Sioux but were beat out by Blais when the job was open. Hey, we tried!

sagard
I remember some Gopher fans talking about when he would be gone by one year or two years... Not me. I always agreed he would stay at UND until they win a NC. You know, 7-8 years!

ericlynn2
I believe what he was refering to is that it is the decision of when to go to the pro ranks is probably only about 30% his (or anybody else's for that matter) as the franchise that holds the rights to the player decides when to offer the contract. Many teams - of which the N. J. Devils are one I believe - have the mentality of allowing their drafted players to develope in college on their dime and not sign players to mature in the minors. UMDDogz
Yeah...the competition in the WCHA is fierce enough to mould some fine young players. Sure, they'd get more playing time in Jr's, but education is important too!
