If you fight in the WJC I think you get kicked out of the game and the next one don't you? I don't know if would say that JVR was a disappointment he did score like 5 goals.

you can take a guy down and send a message without throwing real punches. sagard is right about that time tavares scored and then the usa just got punked overall. i knew they were in trouble when they scored first and did the hand to the ear as they skated by team canada bench then did it 2 times after that awaking a sleeping giant in their home barn. team usa is a joke. they had some nice individual performances but thats the problem. that wont win you a gold. hope they can figure it out for next season and i think it starts with the head coach and picking the right guy for that job that install discipline from the get go and a true tryout system. who cares if it takes a extra week to do so. it works for canada

They have 20 guys dressing per game. Something should have happened to Tavares or Eberle after JVR got decked. Let their pest have his fun, if he is going to wreck one of our top guys their top guys have to pay the price. It's ugly, but it's how you win. Not sure USA Hockey has the stomach to attempt to win at all costs every year.

You know your in trouble when Frazee has been your best and most clutch goalie in the last five years.

Just watch the Canada/Russia highlights again and Russia#3 not only fubar'd the tying goal, but he deflected one in past his goalie earlier as well. Ouch. :D

1) Part of the issue to might be the fact that a very, very small percentage of the US actually cares about hockey (I wish it was more). The entire country of Canada cares about hockey. The best athletes in Canada almost automatically play hockey. The same can't be said for the US. Criticizing the US hockey program is the same as the US criticizing Canada for their football or basketball program. Yeah those programs aren't any good in Canada, but it is because by and large the majority of the people don't care about them.

2) Regarding your statement about Americans sense of entitlement being disgusting to many Canadians. Last I checked, the US was not the country that felt "entitled" to a socialistic national health care program. Most Americans have to prove their "merit" and go out and get a job that provides such benefits.

3) If Canada is so great, why are most of the NHL teams in the US?

And a even smaller percentage of that pecentage cares about this tournament. (me included)

For the second time, Canadians do not hate Americans. I think Vegas1 might have went a little overboard with his sense of entitlement comment but your 'proving your merit' comment is way off as well. Take a look around the world, the United Stated is one of few established countries without national healthcare. What the heck does that have to do with hockey anyway?

Most of the NHL teams are in the US because there simply are not enough markets in Canada to support teams. In the next ten years, three of your American franchises will be relocating north of the border because Gary Bettman made the mistake of placing these teams in Atlanta, Phoenix, and Nashville. Hopefully we will have a team a couple hours away in Winnipeg again if this occurs.

Someone was absolutely correct when they stated that 90% of America does not care about hockey. I would love for one of the 90% to find me a sport that combines more athleticism with toughness on the planet. Thank god for the 10% of you that keeps this great game going down here. But before I go padding you all on the back, you should get over yourselves and realize that this is one sport that you do not dominate. Take the 'non' support from your neighbors to the north as a compliment and use it as motivation.

More then half the players on the Sioux including their coaching staff are Canadian are they not?

Hey isn't that what we tell our fellow fans in Minnesota during Sioux and Gophers week? :D:D

who cares where the sioux players are from. i know i dont and i dont see anyone padding themselves on the back for anything. team usa sucks big time. they are an embarassment and have been for a while now. the program isnt working like they thought it would and it needs to be revamped. get over yourselves?? for whats........... i never thoguht usa dominated hockey and i doubt many do but lets not forget those teams in the states were formally canadian based teams so theres something to be said about that as well before you go placing them back in canada.

13 players are from canada on the sioux copmpared to 12 usa players and have no idea what that has to do with anything unless you are gopher fans who think they are still all 25 year old canadians :D

GO SIOUX and i doubt the canucks will have a tough time with sweden tonight as i think they already passed that test against the commies

The non-support against the Russians is weird. Against anyone else I can see it.

I realize the US won't ever dominate in Hockey. However the program should have goals and be accountable for reaching them. For the WJC I truly believe they should be playing in the Gold Medal game once every three years and pulling down the championship when the opportunity presents itself.

Right now all I see out of USA Hockey is them patting themselves on the back when one of their program kids makes the NHL.

I think the USA can win, they need to take the team from Rolston and team USA needs to become more serious about the

tourney. I would like to see more of an NHL mind coach the team like Canada and start having a tryout with all of the candidates

like team Canada does. It seems that USA doesn't pick enough of the guys that do the extra gritty stuff to win. We picking the 20 best

pretty boys/prima donnas and we don't have any role players. I mean duh on Wilson and JVR but some of the other guys I don't know.

Quick poll:

Who do you punch first?

A. The kid that you beat at (insert any sport here) and then says "yeah - but I bet I can kick yer azz at tetherball, pogs and watermelon seed spitting."

B. The kid that beat you at (insert any sport here) and that is the ONLY thing he is good at and therefor thinks it is the only thing that matters and won't shut up aboot (<------ oops) it.

just curious

Cormier in the box for interference. Della-Rovere in the box for roughing. Markstrom (goalie) gets penalty also for roughing, Swedes send Tedenby to the box for him.

5 on 4, Sweden PP, 6:47 left in the 2nd

(That took a very long time for the refs to sort that all out!)

I have just about heard enough from the homer announcers. They are almost as bad as the Rug and Doug.

Espo stuck his leg out and slough footed the swedish goalie and these guys are trying to say that the goalie was embelishing.

The latest: He is embelishing all over the ice. What part of you can't hit the goalie do they not understand.
