UNDintheNHL
I'm not altogether sure why LA fired him in the first place. He wasn't exactly tanking despite not making the playoffs his last two years in LA. He actually did an amazing job since he constantly seemed to be leading a team chock full of players on IR. I feel bad for Kitchen though. Run under the bus. Hired as an interim head coach at the end of last season and strung along like cheap meat until it was convenient to toss him out the door. and run out before he had a chance to let T.J and Johnson get playing time. Murray will have a great rest of this year i believe, bringing the team out of last place for sure, and will have a good new year next year with both Oshie and Johnson no brainers to be in St. Louis, at least for pre-season camps, and at some point for sure on the Big Squad next year. AZSIOUX
smaby #4 on hf lighting board http://hockeysfuture.com/article.php?sid=9294 As for Smaby, who is in his first professional season, there have been some growing pains in the transfer from the college game to the AHL. Smaby currently sits with a team-worst minus-16 rating, posting one goal and four assists, having appeared in all 26 games. The one goal came within the first minute of his first game of the season. Smaby has looked better in the past couple of games, and will look to build on his modest beginnings for the rest of the season. He has occasionally shied away from playing physically with the Falcons, which was one of the strongest parts of his game when playing for North Dakota. Finding that aspect of his game again will go a long way in ensuring that he is a productive member of the Falcons defense for the rest of the season geez, should have stayed in school

farce poobah
Congrats to Matt Greene on scoring his first NHL goal tonight against the Wild. And a beautiful goal it was! Greene walked around the forwards, walked around the D, cut across the front of net and got it past Fernandez from in close. I tell ya, the guy should be playing forward... THETRIOUXPER
Greene's game tying goal last night was clearly an NHL conspiracy to make him look better than he actually is. I think I would rather trust our two resident talent analysts playswithhimself, and xtothedumba$$. They have already weighed in heavily on this issue. Don't believe what you see on tv folks, Matt Greene will never amount to anything.
UNDintheNHL
well after watching that tsn highlight reel it looks like that goal barely went in.....but hey, it counts, right! i mean, it was pretty though, how he got in there at least. He just got the puck on the top left point (from goalie's perspective), skated around the big crapshoot of people in the slot, and walked right in on Fernandez. Good goin for Greene. He is doing so very well there in Edmonton.
