Goon
Um, you might want to watch that game again Goon. Bertuzzi gave Moore plenty of chances. Moore knew he was going to have to answer for that hit on Naslund and chose to avoid it all night, finally Bertuzzi got fed up and attacked him. Not condoning what Bertuzzi did, but had Moore just fought him and got it over with, none of this would even be an issue now. The thing that people seem to leave out every time this topic is brought up, is his team mates piling on top of him and Bertuzzi is what broke his neck, not the punch or the fall. I've met Todd, heck of a nice guy, its too bad this incident will forever tarnish his hockey career. Back on topic.... IIRC Moore was not a fighter though, so you just cant go and whack someone because they won't fight. Ask Marty McSorrely (sp). So Bertuzzi broke the code. So Bertuzzi broke the code. I assume your referring to the enforcers code. I am not real familiar with Moore so I couldn't say whether he was a fighter, or enforcer if you will, or not. But then again, neither was Bertuzzi. Its not a good idea to jump someone regardless, like I said, I don't condone what he did, but I can understand what made him do it. From what I understand, Moore was more of a rat, like an Avery type, he got under guys skin. In my opinion, if your going to play that kind of game, you should be prepared to defend yourself for your actions, not run from a fight. Regardless, what Todd did was regrettable, he paid the price. Yet will forever be remembered for that incident rather than his hockey skills.

And the NHL cleared Moore of any wrong doing in that hit. Avery is not a rat, he is an instigator...he tries to get under people's skin because that is the type of player that he is...every team has an instigator, some are just better than others. The code means that you DO NOT ATTACK SOMEBODY FROM THE BACK!!!! That is understood by every hockey player. Back on topic, lots of former Sioux should be playing tonight....not sure who all is but i can look if you all would like?

And moving him up to a +19. And I, as well as others, thought he wouldn't perform as well as last year, with Lemaire coming in. Lemaire hasn't slowed down Parise a bit. Just made him more sound defensively. Zajac also gets an assist today, moving him to a +13, which is 4th best in the league.

I think Lemaire with the Devils proves I'm wrong about him when he was with the Wild. Again, Lemaire has exonerated himself. It's Risebrough who was the problem. NJDnumber9
Imagine you are a coach and your team is stacked with nothing but Sids and Ovies.......................... You gonna concentrate the piss out of a defensive scheme? He gets such a bad rap. One that has become quite the tattoo (tough to remove). The guy takes his team's talent, whatever level it may be, and coaches it accordingly. You gotta admit , what it would be like if he coached Sid's team....... Lemaire to Sid and Evgeni: "OK guys, we're up 3-2. I have no faith in your scoring abilities so I want you to dump and chase, then sit back and protect our fragile leed!" LOL I was at a bowling party for my 5 year old son's friend and I couldn't get the game on the tele. I saw it was 6-1 and thought, cool, Parise must of had a good day numbers wise. Just one goal? LOLOL

LOLOL Are you addressing this to me? I changed my opinion on Lemaire. But in defense of my previous position, Lemaire was the bench boss of one, if not THE, preeminant power in hockey when it comes to boring style of play. When you look at a professional team, you don't judge a team's play by the players. You can't. Players come and go and they are all wildcards coming out of juniors. Remember, Stephane Veillieux could score in the CHL. Wes Walz wasn't bad either. Benoit Pouliot was amazing in the CHL. But teams relaxed in the NHL when they were carrying the puck into the offensive zone because they couldn't score in a $2 brothel that's having a 50% off sale. So you look at two people: The coach and the GM. The GM doesn't handle day to day on ice operations. So, that leaves the head coach. Right or wrong, that's how it is. Andy Murray, this year, is on the hot seat in St. Louis because his players aren't performing up to snuff. I think Murray is an excellent coach who is used to getting a lot out of very little (hey, he got the Kings to the playoffs a year... that's simply amazing). But he's the guy in the spotlight, not the seeming regression of Chris Mason or the slump of many a player. Lemaire is a good coach. Risebrough was a disaster, but that's nothing new. Minnesota sports teams love hiring morons as GMs. Risebrough, McHale, to a certain extent Terry Ryan, whoever was the GM during Red McComb's days with the Queens... Big A HG
but having said that I understand and accept the fact that there are some people out there who actually enjoy watching hockey fights more than the game of hockey itself. Most of which aren't real hockey fans (even though some may claim to be). Everyone loves a good, fast, intense game, especially when it gets chippy. I don't care for fighting unless it is deserved and necessary. Fighting just to fight or overreacting to a situation resulting in a fight is dumb and slows down the game. redwing77
He is also a fashion consultor. And an interesting case. I mean... he gets dumped by Dallas and no one takes him for a while before NYR finally signs him again. He's almost an untouchable. For a time I thought he and Barry Bonds would hang out and console each other. In any case, I think he's beyond an instigator. He does have a penalty made directly because of things he's done on the ice.

Big A HG
Just saw that on SportsCenter, that's terrible. I hope that people take the high road here and resist using this as an excuse to take a cheap shot at Ballard because of where he played his college hockey. It was obviously unintentional and I feel really bad for Vokoun first and foremost but also for Ballard. He has to feel just awful about this. OK...here's what was striking to me. Ballard attempts to break his stick on the post, but hits Vokoun. Vokoun goes down immediately, but Ballard finishes the job of breaking his stick, AFTER already hitting Vokoun, and THEN skates away like nothing happened. THEN, when they were getting him on the stretcher, there were 5 Thrashers and 2 Panther players (Vokoun being a Panther) giving well-wishes to Vokoun, with Ballard nowhere in sight. So, how bad did he really feel? He's the one that did the damage yet showed no concern anytime after the accident. F'in idiot
