Parise and Zajac each with an assist in today's Devils/Flyers game. Back on the same line again.

Toews plays in about a half hour.

That seems like NJ has played a lot of games this week, the Devils have played Boston, the yotes and Philly in one week.

Yesterday the Blues resigned Panzer;

the Predators made a qualifying offer to Curtis Murphy; and

the Wild (Sekeras) and Devils each declined to make qualifying offers to regular d-men from last season perhaps opening the door for Roche and Hale respectively.

Wow, this post/thread has come a long ways.

Wow, long time no see/posting Sioux fans . . . some stuff of interest . . .

I saw Brandon Bochenski and his wife in the Boston Common earlier this week, uh, yeah . . .

Karl Goehring was released by Norfolk then picked up by Syracuse of the AHL

And Zach Parise claims there was no Minnesota brainwashing in his family (article from ESPN, who knew they knew what hockey was)

Johnny has the game winning goal tonight (in OT) against the Senators.

EDIT: Can someone tell me what the WWW patch the Blackhawks have on their jersey is for?

I noticed that it has a feather hanging from one side. :glare:

WWW is the initials, IIRC, of their late owner, William Wadsworth Wirtz. He's the guy who basically started up the Chicago Blackhawks, watched them rise to power, and then promptly ran them into the ground.

Just got back from that game and JT didn't disappoint. Amazing to see him wearing the A on his jersey as a rookie in the NHL but he is clearly already one of the leaders.

Your Blackhawks history is off a little bit. The team was started and joined the NHL in 1926. That owner died in 1944. It was sold again in 1952 to 3 partners, one of them being Arthur Wirtz and the other 2 being James Norris Jr and Sr. Norris Sr died late in 1952. His son Norris Jr died in 1966 and William Wirtz took over as President of the club. Chicago won 3 Stanley Cups, 2 during the 30s and the last one in 1961.
