I'm not altogether sure why LA fired him in the first place. He wasn't exactly tanking despite not making the playoffs his last two years in LA. He actually did an amazing job since he constantly seemed to be leading a team chock full of players on IR.

I feel bad for Kitchen though. Run under the bus. Hired as an interim head coach at the end of last season and strung along like cheap meat until it was convenient to toss him out the door.

and run out before he had a chance to let T.J and Johnson get playing time. Murray will have a great rest of this year i believe, bringing the team out of last place for sure, and will have a good new year next year with both Oshie and Johnson no brainers to be in St. Louis, at least for pre-season camps, and at some point for sure on the Big Squad next year.

RED SEAL PEACH

Getting to know the real Drew Stafford

Stafford figures to have a lengthy career in professional hockey. His amateur and professional statistics prove that he is a talented player who is poised to produce at the National Hockey League level. However, if for some reason hockey should not work out for Drew, he has plan B ready. He

smaby #4 on hf lighting board

http://hockeysfuture.com/article.php?sid=9294

As for Smaby, who is in his first professional season, there have been some growing pains in the transfer from the college game to the AHL. Smaby currently sits with a team-worst minus-16 rating, posting one goal and four assists, having appeared in all 26 games. The one goal came within the first minute of his first game of the season. Smaby has looked better in the past couple of games, and will look to build on his modest beginnings for the rest of the season. He has occasionally shied away from playing physically with the Falcons, which was one of the strongest parts of his game when playing for North Dakota. Finding that aspect of his game again will go a long way in ensuring that he is a productive member of the Falcons defense for the rest of the season

geez, should have stayed in school ???:D

Classic! :D

I wonder if the coach made Greene go straight to the locker room for that penalty. ;)

wasn't that the greatest moment? greene going right to the locker room after his second penalty in Mankato. boy, did we get our ass kicked that night! not to mention the fights the "kato" peeps wanted to start after they apparently won the national chip that night. :D

Here are excerpts from the Edmonton game thread on HF:

What a way to score your first NHL goal!!!

----------------

MATT GREENE!!!

Huge Goal.

YEAH BABIES!!!!!

------------------------

Screw Fernandez, I want Greene's urine sample. That was hilarious.

---------------------------

Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeneee!!!!!!!!!!!

----------------------------

Nice Goal By Greene!

Holy Crap I Just About Spilled Water Everywhere!

-----------------------------

ahhaaha MATT GREENE = BOBBY ORR!!!!

i'm laughing so hard right now.. i love this kid

------------------------------

Matt Greene, the mean Greene sniper!!!

------------------------------

Alright Matt Orr, time for another goal.

=====================

And a few comments from Greene:

"It's good to finally get it over with and to have that done," said Greene, who was glad the game ended in regulation. "I think I'm number 20 on the shootout list. I don't even get to play in overtime let alone a shootout."

Matt Greene on his goal - "I blacked out for 5 seconds."

Greene's game tying goal last night was clearly an NHL conspiracy to make him look better than he actually is. I think I would rather trust our two resident talent analysts playswithhimself, and xtothedumba$$. They have already weighed in heavily on this issue. Don't believe what you see on tv folks, Matt Greene will never amount to anything. :D

well after watching that tsn highlight reel it looks like that goal barely went in.....but hey, it counts, right! i mean, it was pretty though, how he got in there at least. He just got the puck on the top left point (from goalie's perspective), skated around the big crapshoot of people in the slot, and walked right in on Fernandez. Good goin for Greene. He is doing so very well there in Edmonton.
