GeauxSioux
Flame taken away on stretcher after Paukovich hitGeoff Paukovich vowed he was doing nothing more than his job. Trouble was, it was just three years ago that the Edmonton Oilers winger had been on the delivering end of another hit that sent another player off on a stretcher. On Sunday, four minutes into the third period of a rookie tournament tilt between the Oilers and Calgary Flames, Paukovich, reacting to a hit, drilled Kyle Greentree. He drove the Flames winger into the end boards with enough force to drop Greentree to the ice."I was just trying to be physical down low, which is what I have to do to be successful. I have to make guys not want to play in our defensive zone," began Paukovich. "I haven't seen the hit, I just know things happened really fast. "All I can say is I hope he's OK. That's the biggest thing. There was no intent. Like I said, I was just trying to play physical."

I hope someone puts him through the boards hope the other guys is alright. he is still a punk like he was when he put bina into the boards. guys like him don't change. just like the downie kid from philly. if they are allowed to keep playing, one of those two will kill someone. both dirty punks who compensate getting outskilled and played by trying to hurt other players. The Whistler
One would imagine that Mr. Paukovitch will get another lesson in the art of hockey fights. Someone's going to have to beat some respect for other players into his head.

The one on McAmmond or that little love tap to Blake's face? Re: Pauk. Don't care what happens to him. re: downie. it was a cheap shot on mcammond, and the nhl apparently agreed as he got a lengthy suspension. mcammond missed a big chunk of time thanks to that cheap shot also. re: pauk. i don't care either, as long as he's not breaking other players necks and sending them off the ice on strechers. my point was that both of these players have a history of instability (mentally or otherwise) which seems to get carried onto the ice. downy cold cocked one of his canadian junior teammates during a practice, cross checks him in the face, gets suspended five games and has to undergo counseling. and as for pauk's rap sheet... convicted of sexually assulting a teen, one broken neck, and two opponents carried off the ice on a strecher due to a cheap shot, not a good start. don't get all bent out of shape because i used downie to prove my point. if he didn't wear a flyer jersey, you wouldn't be so quick to jump to defend him. i hope i am proven wrong and i never hear either of these guys' names mentioned in association with another players injury again, but i don't like the odds. Re: Pauk. Don't care what happens to him. Steve Downie is a punk/hack who fought a team mate for not wanting to be HAZED. The hit on McAmmond landed him a 27 game suspension. So punk is about right. AZSIOUX
they are both haks. downie will mess with the wrong guy and get his ass beat oneday so badly he may never want to see the ice again. pauk will never see the nhl
AussieSiouxFan
RE: Downie - I Love Steve Downie, i think he does a great job to get inside the head of his opponents, he is very physical and he frustrates everyone he plays against. He is an old school style hockey player. 20 years ago his hit against McAmmond would be a highlight reel hit. RE: Paukovich - He is a piece of S#!T and i hope Matt Green has a chance to beat him down again. he deserves more than just an ass beating for what he did to Bina and that day still hasnt come, but when it does i hope he will always remember the day he hit Bina. fu(#!ng HACK! brianvf
It's time to move on from the Paukovich hatred on here. It sounds like both Bina and Paukovich have tried to move on, maybe the fans should as well. It's just my opinion, but I feel that the Paukovich and the Holy Cross situations have run their course. Time to move on, and focus on 08/09 Fighting Sioux hockey.

AussieSiouxFan
If Steve Downie had done that hit 20 years ago he would have started a bench clearing brawl and been carried off the ice on a stretcher. That may be true, but the benches would have cleared for a different reason. NOT because it was a "dirty cheap shot" but because he absolutely fucked up McAmmond and someone has to stick up for their team mate when they get hurt. 20 years ago that wouldnt have landed him the the penalty box, let alone a 20 game suspension. NDFlyer
LOL at all you clowns who think Steve Downie is going to get pummeled. "If this, if that...blah, blah, blah." Hilarious. Dream on. He can handle himself. There is nothing as heartwarming as seeing an opposing player laying on the ice, an official escorting a Flyers player off the ice, and seeing the deluded fans standing up crying their little eyes out. Steve Downie is the Alpha and the Omega.
