AZSIOUX Posted March 17, 2008 Share Posted March 17, 2008 WCHA FINAL 5 HISTORY My favorite tourney of the year, The WCHA Final 5 will start up this Thursday in St. Paul with the play in game between SCSU and UM. Friday will feature UND vs DU and CC vs the winner of the play in game. Congrats to all 5 teams and lets play some WCHA hockey! HOW THEY GOT TO ST. PAUL Colorado College swept UAA at home - 4-1, 3-2 (ot) North Dakota beat Michigan Tech in 3 games at home - 4-0, 2-3 (ot), 2-1 Denver swept UMD at home - 6-3, 1-0 St. Cloud swept Wisconsin at home - 3-0, 4-3 (ot) Minnesota beat MSU in 3 games. 0-1(2ot), 2-1 (ot), 3-2 (2ot) - 4TH IN PAIRIWSE RANKINGS AS OF NOW Overall Record: 28-9-1 WCHA: 21-6-1, 43 points Home: 18-2-0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But boy would that be nuts eh? Realistically though, here are my thoughts, now you can feel free to rip away at these. MN vs. SCSU -- Gophers ride Kangas to an easy victory MN vs. CC -- Although I think same reason as above, we COULD win this one riding a goalie on fire if we can start scoring a little, but I'll give it to CC UND vs. DU -- DU remembers the Sioux huge comeback and craps themselves, blowout UND vs. CC -- Lam doesn't choke, Bachman feels the freshman pressure. Honestly, if UMN somehow makes it this far, I call it a 1-0 game, going either way strictly based on great goaltending (Let the homer comments rain down on me) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Gophers win 1-0 in double overtime, Kangas finally gets his shutout, even though SCSU gets +/- 40 shots again. Continues his climb up the goaltending ranks. Sioux over Denver in something like 4-2 CC over SCSU 4-1 Denver over MN in the 3rd place game 2-1 CC over the Sioux 3-1 in the Championship game.
