The Walrus Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 This is one of the reasons I like Dave Hakstol, he makes a mistake, he mans up, makes his apology, and now move on. Emotions get the best of all of us at times. http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/i...mp;section=News Quote
Sioux-cia Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Exactly what I would expect from Hak. Don't condone it, understand it. Let's move on! Quote
OldSchool Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Exactly what I would expect from Hak. Don't condone it, understand it. Let's move on! Total bush league. Grow up!!! No wonder the players think they walk on water so does he. I have no respect for that. That is why the team plays with such little discipline. Quote

AZSIOUX Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 very stupid thing for hak to do. poor judgement and im guessing he will be suspended for a game but then again maybe not if this was done by lucia or any other coach we as fans wold be all over the coach calling him classless ect.. ect.... thats being said he did it and has to accept any discipline that may come after this then you move on. he took responsibility for it. again move on Quote
luapsided Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Wow!! I think somebody needs a nap! The "old' really stands out in your name. NIEVE. If you don't understand this than you have missed a lot in your life bud. Quote

That is why the team plays with such little discipline. OldSchool- You are the one who needs to grow up!!! The coach made a mistake and apologized for it....what more do you want? He cant take back what he did but he can be responsible in his actions and what he does after the fact. In terms of a team playing with little discipline....get a clue! The Fighting Sioux style is rough and tumble, this is the reason they are continually playing into April. They take penalties and gain momentum by playing this way. They intimidate their opponents and create hesitentsy in their opponents. You must be a gopher fan who likes to see the jersey pumping, talk the talk but not walk the walk style of play. If other teams layed themselves out there the way the Sioux players do, I'm sure they would be as consistent and perform to a high level of play "game after game" and "year after year". For me, I love the amount of emotion the team plays with and wouldn't have it any other way. Quote
Goon Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Wow!! I think somebody needs a nap! And some Zoloft Quote
OldSchool Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 And some Zoloft Hey USA- What more do I want? Some who represents this university and community with some class. Can you imagine Don Lucia doing that? Never would happen!! How about Doug Woog? Maybe and I would love to see the outcry if he did on this board. Apology can be excepted, but at some point you need to be responsible for you actions. Quote
HaksHomey Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Here comes this class argument again. Who Cares?!?!?!?! Dumbest argument in sports. If you find calling people and their actions "classless," then I'm sure you think you must set the moral standard for everyone else. Get a life. Quote

Fetch Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I forgive you Hak does this mean Jim is going to add some new smilies ? Quote

HaksHomey Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 ok what should we use as a better word. "immature" Dwelling on what you think is or is not classless is immature, but whatever floats your boat. Quote
Sioux-cia Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Geeze Louise, Oldschool! Hak made a mistake. He apologised. His picture is all over the internet. You think that he doesn't feel terrible about what happened. Do you really think that his error in judgement defines who he and the Fighting Sioux hockey team are? Boy, all I can say at this point is I hope your not a father, employer, husband, friend, etc. Because we all (well maybe not you) make mistakes, in some cases, horrible mistakes. What a better man/woman does after a mistake is what helps defines his character. Get off your high horse, take off the hair shirt and stop flogging yourself; that's not what is going to get you into heaven! Quote

How is he not being responsible for his actions? What more would you have him do? He screwed up, owned up the fact that he screwed up, issued a formal, public apology and said it would never happen again. You bet we would be all over Lucia if he did it (and if you look at Hakshomey's avatar he apparently has) but many on this board have also said that Hak shouldn't have let his emotions get the best of him. It was a stupid move but in my opinion anyway, a far less egregious act than Eaves "calling out" Hak after the Wisconsin game earlier this year or Jutting and his assistant "calling out" the refs last year and having to be escorted away by the cops. Hey Hashomey You changed your avatar back - just when I was using it to make a point. Please change it back. Quote
RexBanner Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I'm going to pistol whip the next person on either side that says "class". Quote
Diggler Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Hey, what was the name of that show from the 80's that had all the super smart kids in high school? Ernest was the nerd and in the later seasons the awesomely psycho guy from Boondock Saints was the teacher. Head of the Class Quote
administrator Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Gentle reminder, since this thread may invite it, please help keep SiouxSports.com family-friendly and don't post any pictures that might be considered obscene. Stay classy Quote
DamStrait Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Hak made a really bad mistake and has apologized for it. I think everyone, even Sioux haters can agree that it was highly out of character. While what he did was totally unacceptable, I guarantee that Adam earned it with some over-the-top antagonistic language. In the question of who was more right in Hak vs. Adam, I'm taking Hak every day of the week and twice on Sunday - are you kidding me? Are their respective track records even close? Please. Quote
RexBanner Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I'm sure it happens more than you'd think...Hak just got caught. I couldn't care less about it...I think both sides mostly feel the same. Quote
