  1. C26 row 8 seats 1-2 (on the bar rail). Finally got the seats that I used to stand at for years until they began selling them to Wild season ticket holders 2 years ago. I tried to get them last year but they were "too popular" for guys like me. I made a few phone calls and now they are mine for as long as want - screw the Wild and Goph fans.
  2. but he is American born - they (the goph fans that I know anyway) get pissed about Canadien winners. Perhaps it is just another reason for them to be bitter though.
  3. I would rather watch these guys than the gophs when the Sioux aren't on
  4. what channel? I'm stuck at work with limited cable though.
  5. also - lest we forget that metropolitan minnesota is the home of over 2.8 million people - enough to fill the Uchi 280 times over where Grand Fork's population is approx. 65,000 - enough to fill the new Ralph only 5 times.
  6. Final 5 - no question - for all the reasons mentioned. It won't be the same this year without the Gophs playing in their home town though. The place will be half empty. Well, perhaps not as Goph fans are the "best" (just ask them) and will show up simply to watch good hockey. (cough, cough)
  7. East wing of the Ralph actually - what is that - 4 in a row now?
  8. well - the arrogance may be temporarily absent - but the stupidity never will be from GPL I take back every relatively nice thing I said earlier. I hate the Gophs and all the ignorant dumb-azzes that support them. I hope we rip their throats out this weekend. Right in front of their hometown, insult spewing, elitest eyes. Boy - that didn't take long - did it.
  9. Well - did not make it to the Sioux practice last night (due to the traffic problems of biblical proportions here in metropoilitan Minnesota) but did get to the "gopher Chat" at Stub and Herbs. No coaches made it over but got to listen to some good stories from Wooger, Mazucko (or something like that) Glenn Sonnmor and a couple of x-gophers including Paul Broton. The theme was pretty good and they threw in a North Dakota flare with stories of trips to GF and how big the rivalry is. The atmosphere around here is nothing like I have witnessed before. It appears as if this whole town of 2.8 million is convinced that the Sioux will sweep this weekend as the gophs are so bad this year. When leaving, I went up to thank Frank and Wooger for doing this town forum type thing as I know it takes alot of work and is something that they don't normaly do. Frank asked me how I think the series will turn out (with a very noticable concerned look on his face) I told him that I think it will be a split as I didn't have the heart to say what I really think will happen. He said " boy I sure hope so as this team is really down and sure needs that" I tried to make him feel better with the backs against the wall stuff - last year for the Sioux and this year with his team - don't know how he took that though. BTW - We are by no means buddies (as I truely hate the way he calls the games) and I only called him Frank because I don't remmember how to spell his last name. I'm not used to all the lack of arrogance witnessed aound here this week - but I'm sure it will be back soon enough as it is so deep seated and simply searching for some kind of outlet. Not this weekend though.
  10. just another thing for our lads to be motivated about this weekend.
  11. yep - sure do as it is a public building. I have not gone to a practice for a couple of years - but I have to believe that it is still open though. the gal I spoke with did not hesitate in letting me know what time it was and di not say anything about it being closed.
  12. The Sioux practice at 5:15 today. I think that I'll take some of that in before heading to Stub and Herbs for a beer and some metropolitan Minnesota hometown B.S.
  13. Everybody I know here has no expectations for even a slightly favorable Goph outcome this weekend and lack of any type of enthusiasm is the result. Typical metropolitan minnesota fans that only support winners.
  14. very eloquent - but he's still a hometown punk - through and through.
  15. Sorry but I'll be watching from my usual SRO spot at the Uchi with a buddy Friday and my wife on Saturday.
  16. I wanted to go to the coach's luncheon again this year - but it sounds like the gophs aren't having them anylonger. Poor attendance perhaps.
  17. not past March 16th in all likelyhood
  18. Metropolitan Minnesota Sports Talk Radio anyway - with the exception of Patrick Ruesse - all of these rubes are so much of a homer its embarrassing
  19. I especially liked the "Ole Ole" the Sioux fans in the corner did as a salute to the Green/white after the game Saturday night. It was a good visiting team stick salute from the fans.
  20. Decided to spend the night after Saturday's game. Grandstay Residential Suites - they accept dogs under 20lbs. Have to put mine on a crash diet for the next few days though as she tips the scales at around 25.
  21. Looks like BlueBricks may be the place we'll be Saturday pre and post game.
