  1. very well could be, but I was getting at the disparity between where we (UND) are now v where we thought we would be 4 weeks ago. To say they may finish 4 or 5 and use that as a knock on Colter while we may (probably will? could possibly? IDK. somewhere on that spectrum) end up lower than them seems silly.
  2. Whoever was saying Colter is a homer for MSU and that they would probably finish 4-5 but no better (while we were 4-1) because of defense better be ready to eat their words, depending on Saturday. Wasn't a fan of the comment at the time, and now he may look the fool!
  3. I want to say want to say the scheels in forks has multiple different color schemes for bison football jerseys.
  4. Also have got to remember, UMD, UND DC, and SIU DC were all stepping stones for Bubba. Is the guy not allowed to learn from past experiences? I fully expect coaches' abilities to increase w/time. Have zero reason to doubt BUBBA, yet. Some things Rudy has done seem questionable (4th and medium, w/game on line going deep, 2x in a row). As for the shirts being pulled, I haven't liked iwarri's shirt being pulled, but you've got to put the best product on the field every year. I expect less shirts will get pulled as the years go on, but Bubba's job is to do what's best for this team this year as far as playing time goes, while the playoffs are still in picture (unlikely, but possible). Recruiting is when you worry about next year.
  5. I want to be able to support my reasoning in the future, which is why I vote Nodaks. What was the sioux? 1. Epic 2. Unique 3. Traditional I'm going to assume we want something that matches these criteria. I'm going to cross epic off the list because, lets be real, we're not going to match the sioux. So we have unique and traditional. Which names are unique and/or traditional? Nodaks or roughriders (kind of). Roughriders: we have one in the city of grand forks, albeit high school. two of our best football alum in recent years have played football for the roughriders, of the CFL, saskatchewan. Yes they are green, yes they are a northern-based football team. That brand is taken. Red River highschool and the Sas Roughriders are a legitimate part of the conversation because part of the focus of being D1 is getting in state support -- by bringing in locals as walk-ons or scholarship athletes when possible. I doubt people of the state will like playing second fiddle to Canada (in anything), or to a high school in Grand Forks. In addition, Teddy Roosevelt was not from North Dakota. It is rather petty in my mind, that people from North Dakota reach like that for popularity: "but but but a president liked our state, we should take pride in him and his followers." Please. Nodaks: Not my top choice originally. but we used to be known as the Nodaks, and it is unique. IN addition, we get to make the mascot whatever we want. Which is possibly where we start talking about Epic again. It's the closest thing to North Dakota, and that was my top choice. Hawks: The logo that will not be picked is the indian feather looking hawk. thats a cool logo. It is not unique or traditional. It won't be picked by the University. In addition, this is popular among students, who for the most part don't attend football or volleyball or basketball games. (we shouldn't let the students make the decision). This is a middle school traveling team mascot--and a great one. but I don't go to middle school traveling games, I go to D1 college games. In addition, there are 46 other institutions in the nation that call themselves some version of 'hawks.' to those not voting, I hate that I get to be a part of the process, but you have a duty to help make the best decision. The (relatively) few who participate on this message board are no doubt the most passionate followers of athletics here. Whatever you vote for, At least vote. Lastly, lets all just PTL that Sundogs is out.
  6. That being said--when is the right time to be there ?
  7. Guys, I've always been pro-Mollberg and I still am. I'm saying that given the information we have and the angles we're taking (4.0 student, team guy, good passer, slightly better mobility than Bartels), the situation doesn't make sense. Do we think Bubba is a guy who does things that don't make sense? I don't think so. I think we have faith in this team because he is the opposite of that. I was playing devil's advocate, trying to see the situation through a different lens. Looking back at my comment, yes I retract the last part. That comes across as really suggestive and not what I was going for. I did not mean to take a potshot at Mollberg. If you look through my post history you'll see that there is a subtle pro-Mollberg flavor.
  8. is it a problem? Devils advocate but what if he doesn't fit the culture? What if he's living a non FCS-football productive lifestyle?

I'm more than a little bit unnerved by the last three weeks, but moving on time again. What is the plan against Prukop? If you were Schmidt or Bubba, what would you do differently to assure that we don't lose all credibility with another 20+ point blowout?
  10. Does your source mention that fans will be able to buy jerseys anywhere anytime soon? Tough to promote the team without any gear at all.
  11. three descriptors of the Fighting Sioux nickname - Epic, Unique, Traditional. Nodaks gets two out of three, while not being associated with a rainbow.
  12. Just a nugget. Looks like we would be the 47th school to use some variation of hawks (and 10th to switch from native nickname to Hawks). #Unique
  13. On to the Griz*, though I laughed at your title. Indeed, moving onward and upward!
  14. Didn't know where to drop these, also was the best quality I could get to fit on the site, but take a look at the HPC now.
  15. After the comment about new posters, clutch. 1 post ever.
  16. I was about to say the same thing. I feel like they might not be bringing up bad points though.
  17. Being a douche doesn't make you sound smart. If you're a UND fan, shut your mouth with your negativity and cheer on Saturdays. If you're not a UND fan, shut your mouth.
  18. -- on the subject of ISU players lacking class - yes, they were razzed by our students all game. But zero profanity, a lot of heckling, but nothing about mothers, sisters, girlfriends, etc. After they scored the last touchdown, between 8-10 of their players turned around and openly bantered with the student section. Mildly infuriating. If bubba was their coach, I think we would have seen 8-10 1 game suspensions this morning. The last one I remember was number 8 taking a bow and saying 'Have a nice homecoming'
  19. I thought music was good between big downs initially but it's almost as if whoever was calling those shots left when most of the students did -- not clutch when the team/fans needed it down the stretch
  20. I was hoping I didn't have to make one!
