  1. Can somebody explain something to me? It is my understanding that NHL teams are inviting draftees in for "prospect" camps. That would seem to be backed-up by this:
  2. It's not quite that simple. Frazee has three years left of eligibility, Parise has (had?) one. While Jeff didn't tear it up on the ice as well as he did off it, with some maturing he can still have a solid career. Let's see what happens in the next couple of years before we draw any conclusions. There is no question that JP is ahead of Frazee now though. After Brodeur retires, if for some reason Parise and Frazee end up being the #1 and #2 tenders, has there ever been a rotation in the NHL with a former Sioux and a former Gopher?
  3. So you're saying there's a chance...Hey Triouxper I thought you were quite confident about Oshie returning next year after this season ended. Are you starting to hedge on that a bit?
  4. Not here to bash the Sioux, but before thumping your chest too loudly while screaming "TEAM" you may check to see which "TEAM" other then the Denver Pioneers has won two Nat'l Championships since the Sioux won their last one. Yes, they did lose to Holy Cross this year though.
  5. History would say that it's just a matter of time though, unless he wants to follow his sister.
  6. The fact is I really enjoy reading the opinions of Sioux fans, that's why I am here. I particularly enjoy your posts and perspective PCM. I try to stay away from personal attacks. If anything I ask someone to make their case for their opinion as I try to back the opinion I espouse. In the past I have joined you, PCM, in ribbing those that have reduced a good thread to flaming. I am just trying to remain consistent. BTW, I think your dog pic is hilarious. AZSIOUX, does that mean I made VARSITY?
  7. Why are you contributing to it? Wake me up when it's over!
  8. Um, can you explain the stuff about the things again? I am guessing that either: 1. You are smashed 2. You are confusing Johnson with Kessell 3. You think Johnson and Kessell are the same person 4. You have the attention span of a jr. higher after shot-gunning a six-pack of "Vault" 5. A combo of 1,2,3 and 4
  9. I know that you can't put too much stock in what is said in these interviews but did anyone else catch Johnson hinting that he won't "make the jump (to the pro's) for a couple of years ." That would rock!
  10. OK, if you flush them and growl at them, does Dakota shoot them?
  11. If my records are correct I believe the Gophers are 6-3 vs. UND at the new ralph. 10/5/2001 7-5 W 2/8/2002 6-4 W 2/9/2002 4-3 W 11/7/2003 3-7 L 11/8/2003 3-5 L 10/22/2004 2-4 L 10/23/2004 6-0 W 12/9/2005 4-3 W 12/10/2005 4-3 W I found this info at gopherhockeyhistory.com According to the pattern, UND should win the next three at home vs Minny.
  12. That's a great idea. Then they can blitz that German speaking market that is craving for quality since David Hasselhoff stopped cutting hits.
  13. In the words of ever-quotable Frank Barrone "HOLY CRAP"!
  14. I just read the rest of the thread after Trouixper's post. Ignore my previous post even more than you normally would.
  15. I would believe this quote from just about anyone but you. Are you kidding me? A ton of your posts have been specifically about blasting players, well one in general.
  16. Huh...I didn't know that Toews' stock has fallen that much. Whooda thunk?
  17. Maybe he can share a line with Vanek!
  18. Looks like Ryan had ten shifts totalling about 6.5 minutes last night. No points, no penalties and won half his draws. Talk about being thrown into the fire though. link:http://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreports/20052006/ES021144.HTM Sorry guys, can't get the link to work. Perhaps one of you savvy techs could fix and erase my edit.
  19. Thank you 42 for the link. I'm surprised they would debut Ryan in such an intense game. Good luck Ryan, this ain't Holy Cross anymore.
  20. Hey Hextall, Show a little class brother. I hope like hell you are not a Gopher fan. The Sioux had a phenomenal season and have no reason to hang their heads. Great game Sioux, just came up a little short.
  21. I agree with Sagard. I think college hockey in general is going to lose many promising players that were or are to be drafted this year. The Sioux could lose Stafford,Parise,Smaby, Zajac, Toews, Oshie, Sparky, Lee, Chorney , and Finley among others. Some Gopher casualties could be Goligoski, Kessell, Wheeler and recruits Erik Johnson and Kyle Okposo. This list is just from the top of my head and certainly not exhaustive. Each of these guys have individual situations but if the pro team with your rights offers close to the max with a $400,000 to $500,000 bonus, it will be hard to turn down. Next year the same max offer would only net about a $150,000 to $200,000 bonus, from what I have read. Thats an awful lot of money to leave on the table. I hope I'm wrong but I think many good college players will sign.
  22. We had a really good streak going there, but I just can't agree with this. I care, I care man.
  23. I agree with AZSioux( ) that it is ridiculous for Gopher fans to come over on this site and talk about lines, PP unit, PK unit...whatever. There is a much more appropiriate place called GPL. That being said I have a hard time buying "chokers" and "Crapping away" another season lines when the team has won two championships in the last five and has lost in: a regional final (thanks RWD), a frozen four semifinal, and a first round upset. I'll take that rotation every five years please, and there isn't a reasonable Sioux fan that wouldn't take it either.
  24. I don't remember the Gophers recruiting Tom Collins. I do remember Jack Daniels though.
  25. I'd have to go with Collins. For the Sioux I would guess Toews, he has been on fire recently.
