  1. Based on the 1st quarter we do match up well with these guys, like I said before the game.......keep it going boys.
  2. Sweeny, don't be afraid to be excited about a 1st down.
  3. Let's put to rest some worries about the RB position. He 'sounds' good when he runs.
  4. What's one step worse than rusty?? That's what this is.
  5. A real Slobberknocker and I'm saying we have a chance - 20 to 19, in the final seconds. UND wins.
  6. I agree and layed out the evenness of some match ups in this game. This is our best opportunity to knock off an FBS team no doubt.
  7. Could very well be a defensive battle. Still too early for my pick - As we saw in the only college football game thus far, NDSU vs. Montana, a game within the game can emerge, match-ups. Montana obviously liked their match-up on the outside with WRs getting one-on-one coverage. I think NDSU, in their best interest, should have stuck to the ground and pound as that was a favorable match-up for them. I actually like the UND O-line vrs. Wyoming front 7, well enough to say it looks pretty even with 3 Senior starters and Stockwell in good health for UND, and Alder at TE is a good player. (Although Wyoming's best player is on the D-line) I hope our RBs run hard!! I think our receivers can be productive, too. And schematically, we will find someone running free for a long play if Studsrud can hit him. (Wyoming's secondary is young and inexperienced and Tampa 2 can be beat deep middle, play action) I like our defensive front seven, especially our linebackers, yet Wyoming appears to have really good RBs and a good running scheme. I think it's pretty even but special RBs could slant the advantage to Wyoming if we don't tackle well. Our secondary is much improved, I am very confident in the 2 safety sports and Deon Harris, still a little unsure about the other corner spot. Wyoming does not have a real burner as a wide out that can stretch the field, which bodes well for us. Overall I think our secondary matches up nicely with Wyoming WRs and I expect the safeties to make plays. So, both teams will feel each other out and whomever takes or makes the most of match-up advantages will likely win. Go Sioux!!
  8. Now if Sampson had a high ankle sprain, I would put the first $100 in for the bounty. Your comment is so dumb it shows you know nearly nothing about football.
  9. it was 4 different guys in about 2 pages- I would guess over half their fans think this way. Like Sampson for instance.
  10. When 230 lbs. comes rolling at a Corner at 185 lbs. one thought comes to mind in a fraction of a second, 'hit him low'. If Wentz had a shoulder injury, the same thought would come to mind, 'hit him low'.
  11. Passing game will obviously depend on time to throw the ball and QB accuracy. However, I was told we are much better at WR this year and we'll need a balanced attack to compete against top teams. I already stated who I thought would lead the team in receiving yards this year, the kid from Arizona.
  12. Here is what the Bison Faithful think of us, see their comments below, concerning the injury to Wentz- If Wentz plays, we will absolutely bring more pressure than say maybe a normal game plan to test his mobility. I don't see this as a blessing. The best way to be sure Carson and our WR are on the same page come conference play is game reps. We may beat the next two teams by 40 points per game but next up is SDSU who will be ready. I don't want a rusty QB for that one. This may be a blessing in disguise. Stick needs some real reps as we will need both down the road, and next two games are candy ass teams. Sit Carson until the Jacks game. That will give his ankle 1 month to heal. The Bison can easily beat Weber and UND w/o him. Actually, he should be fully healed up by Oct 3 when we play SDSU. Until then it's nothing but byes and cupcakes.
  13. I am not a Dr., just basing it off of personal experiences. The question of how bad is the ankle?....the answer is I'll tell you in the morning.
  14. The real measure of an ankle sprain is the next morning.........if you're tough, and Wentz is, you can play through it when it happens but the question is, what does it look like now?
  15. Morlock was justified, no problem with his response. I am wondering the Bison faithful take on the performance of their O-line. I think they underperformed and was most surprised by that aspect of the game. Are they overrated? Still gelling? Play calling didn't let them take over the game? Injuries? Was Montana good on the D-line (didn't appear to be). I just didn't see NFL when I watched them.
  16. Offensive system is hurry up and spread, but as Deluca put it, "it wasn't anything unexpected". It seems like after a good gain the Griz often run the ball the next play. The QB is tall and tends to float the ball little, and you don't have to worry about him running. When the Griz QB did run or throw out of the pocket he got smoked, clean hits, hats off to SU. The Griz running backs are a little shifty, but often times they had room to run and couldn't make one man miss, I am going to call their running backs 'average'. A former Griz player, who happened to be on the Bison pre-game show said the center and guards are average, and he even called the Griz o-line 'terrible'. They didn't look that bad considering the front 4 for the Bison couldn't get much pressure. But, keep in mind most of the time the ball was gone inside 3 seconds. Where it gets a little scary is on the outside, the Griz have 2 really good wide outs and another 1-2 kids that looked above average. As UND-FB-Fan eluded to, I don't want to see any press man from Corners under 6'. I'd call it the Harris Rule as in only Deon Harris can challenge in man press. Defensively, the Griz seemed thin as in depth and small on the defensive line, yet they held up OK. They were missing their 'best' linebacker for the game yet the linebackers they had were good. They have some really good athletes in their secondary, but weren't exactly assignment sharp. (Morlock touchdown pass) So from last years team down a little on the D line, but still really good LBs and skill positions. All things considered, UND will have to implement the Harris Rule to avoid easy decisions and easy plays by throwing jump balls to their stud WRs. I think the Bison did show us you can run on them and I think the Bison should have more, but they wanted to get a little fancy for some reason with the play calling. I will office chair coach and give my 2 cents to the staff on the Harris Rule, guaranteed.
  17. 0% on 4th downs will have to change if the Griz are going to stay in this one.
  18. Note to Vraa, you are average in the Big Sky for wide outs-
  19. Wentze's run plays will be more predictable as the year goes. I called 2 from my couch. Looks like a shootout.
  20. Griz running backs are average-
  21. Arnell specifically and the safety position as a whole. We are better and deeper at safety.
  22. Would anyone take staying North Dakota, but in doing so take the state number. So North Dakota 39'ers. I like it -
