  1. Normally they outkicked their coverage at FBS. FBS schools miss on players, too, doesn't mean they are going to be a contributor at FCS. I would guess it's 50/50 on what you are getting with FBS drop downs. Obviously a Power 5 is more likely to just be buried behinds tons of talent and is more attractive.
  2. Jake Landry cliff notes- in order, highlights in bold 3 year starter at UND, last 2 Season Captain 2 years at UMD, WR Coach 3 years at FBS NIU, 2 as QB Coach, 1 year as LB Coach 2 year OC at Wisc-Lacrosse, record setting seasons 1 year back at NIU, RB Coach (makes me think this was paid position and prior stop was more of a GA??) 3 years at Temple, QB Coach 2 year OC and QB Coach at St. Thomas
  3. New strength coach, new QB. I believe those were Bubba decisions. Not defending, UND needs a top 10 year, playoff win, no getting our _ss kicked on the road or in playoffs.
  4. Maybe he's looking for an OC?
  5. Might need a wellness check if we don't hear from him by morning.
  6. More often than the WR coach, less often than the QB coach, just spit balling but I believe this to be true.
  7. Where is The Sicatoka? Perfect time for his O-Line post!!
  8. Everything starts up front with the O-line. O-line Coach knows RB and TE blocking responsibilities. O-Line coaches have a base belief and strong working knowledge of blocking concepts in run/pass game. O-Line, especially Center has in game checks and their O-line Coach teaches them. O-Line coaches are involved in schematics with OC I believe in most cases. (If we can't block it, we can't run it). O-Line coach knows realistic timing of each play. Playing time helps anywhere from a little to quite a bit. It's never hurt a coach having a ton of playing time.
  9. Aside from a starter having the experience to actually run an offense live, 2-minute, audibles, RPOs, hot routes, check with me, all sorts of in game adjustments and abilities/responsibilities to change plays and work with OC on what he's seeing and possible input on game plans, nothing.
  10. Other than the picks vrs the Red Raiders, Joel was a really good player and the position he coached, safeties, pretty much runs the D. Those are big differences. I am much more on the Pawlak side if internal.
  11. I've known Luke since the 1st day he stepped on campus and we still talk. He's surely qualified, but I don't see a way UND can lure him.
  12. Sam King - 4 year QB Bemidji State with a stat line of 5-for-13 (38.5%) for 85 yards, for his career. Place holder as a Sr. Next, 2 years of quality control at UND (I don't even know what that means other than cutting up film, getting coffee and lunch for real coaches) Then, 2 years GA at UMD to help with RBs. Then, 5 years WR coach at UND. There isn't an easier position to coach than WR and RB. Co -OC or OC......you got to be kidding.
  13. Bubba fired Luke when he got to GF, thought Rudy was a better option. I suppose the OC with next year HC would be enticing, but that's not the Vibe I am hearing.
  14. The "Field of Dreams" approach is tiring. It's not like UND has total crap facilities currently. Lots of influences on choosing a school but #1 is the coaching staff and belief in winning. #2 is scholarship with NIL creeping in. After that everything else is a distant 3rd including HP2.
  15. Chaves is a step behind with football. He doesn't fully understand the landscape. It would be hard to mess up the hockey program because it's premier, so even Chaves can't mess that up too bad playing checkers. College football today is chess however, and if you are not 2-3 steps ahead you are behind.
  16. Not outraged, I called it a smart move for him prior to your post. I also called that Danny wouldn't step in as OC at Jacks, performance didn't support it. (Co-OC/QB coach not calling plays) I will let the dust settle and personally wish him well. And yes, I still want to see what another QB can do for us.
  17. Obviously Danny was not happy about something!! Danny must not have been the likely next HC, which probably means he would have been let go with the next HC coming in. Taking a step back is probably better than being unemployed, and it's on his terms now. Actually a pretty smart move.
  18. What is 19-16 the past 3 years for 200? Take 2 Drake games out and 17-16. OC makes no sense for the Jacks, QB coach makes sense. I wanted this next season to see if Danny or Tommy was the issue of not letting things rip. Now, we'll never know as Lunch Bucket Tommy Gun leads Sparty to a Big 10 Title and Danny wins a Natty as the premier FCS OC according to some. Give me a break!!
  19. Now it makes sense. #RTB The only time I had to row a boat is when Old Ev 15 HP wouldn't start on Big D.
  20. Bison player(s) turning down $500 Racks.......LMAO.
  21. Couple free duck calls......I would have found that enticing. Still do!!
  22. 2-10 with a victory over FCS Lamar.......c'mon now.
  23. Are we putting too much into pushing NDSU around in the run game while ignoring 15 yards and 68 yards on the ground vrs UNI and Jacks respectively? Valid points on pass block game, too. Whether counting Mississippis or Bananas the pocket collapsed at 2, agreed.
