Ever walk into a bar and throw a $20 on the blackjack table? Maybe you won big and some big $$ in your wallet - maybe you lost but at the end of the day you ventured $20. Not a life changing amount of money regardless what happened. That's what Mayor Bo is asking - 50,000 residents x $20=1 Million dollars. Deal me in! GF is seriously sucking air after Covid - we need some new attractions and I don't think this is a bad investment at all. One day the border will reopen and Canadians will be SHOCKED AND HORRIFIED what Covid has done to GF. Without a unique reason - they will head straight to Fargo so spend all their tourist money and I think a $20 bill is a small gamble to throw out to keep at least some of that money here! Check out their website- www.visitseaquest.com - they have changing exhibits like a museum and won't be a "one time and done" attraction. And it would be a great addition for schoolkids in the region. The only other plan I've heard for the old KMART is a Senior Living Community which would been another thing we DON'T need right now - a bunch of cheap old people bitching about every penny the city spends on their behalf - AKA KNOX radio which I think we're ALL tired of. peace!

Thanks for the info - will try and yes I think there are a lot of people in GF who want to see them succeed so patience will be a virtue. BE PATIENT GF HOCKEY! (also turn on grammar-check but that's another issue) Another heads up is Dean from Steers has taken over the GF Food Truck and is available at the Farmers Market every Saturday in GF with a pretty interesting SPICY menu including Ghost Pepper Chicken and other more spicy offerings than he had before. Worth a shot - we're going to give him one this weekend. He's a nice guy who's trying very hard.

Good to hear - we'll be trying them this week. Maybe you could make some mild yet delicious suggestions for Indian food virgins? Names like karara, masala or tandoori don't mean anything but once you get people to try it the food is amazingly addicting! They might just need to go in with a couple "safe" dishes they'll like before they go explore the menu themselves. My contrib would be try the Gobi Manchurian which is deep fried cauliflower in a tasty (not spicy) sauce and of course the Garlic or Ginger Naan - a hot fresh baked flatbread that is very good. Tikki Masala is chicken in a red sauce on rice but take GS's advice and order some spice - you won't regret it. PS - G - what's Karara? My wife likes really spicy indian food but she's never heard of this?

Love India Palace so we'll give it a shot - thanks! These guys are getting a good buzz on social media - as has been said, Indian food has been a LONG TIME coming to gf - hopefully this will spur more ethnic restaurants in the area - god knows there is space in the 10 vacant strip malls in the city.

I'm down - what's the best? Not to familiar with Northern Indian Punjabi food but they have Gobi Manchurian which is also pretty good - the only vegetarian entree I'd consider as a main choice - it's an app on this menu but very delicious!

Driving down 32nd tonight and noticed a sign company was hanging something new on the former Spicy Pie spot in the Erbs&Gerbs Stripmall...HOUSE OF PUNJAB with a cool tiger and a banner below saying "Coming Soon". There were some guys hanging around the front taking pictures so I stopped and asked if they were the owners - they were. Told them we've been waiting a LONG TIME for an Indian restaurant in GF and were looking forward to their place. They said they expect to open about the middle of July.

Noel's Cuisine! That was the name of the place.

WWAAYYY too ahead. GF's version of the Dream Cafe for you Seinfeld fans. It was an old downtown line of stools and small table diner (like Darcy's) he took over and made amazing Pakistani food in the shadow of the old City Center mall. Was just starting to get some roll and got sucker punched/knocked out by the flood. Wonder where he is today?

totally agree GF needs an Indian Restaurant and India Palace would be a great place to replicate here. Tandoori Chicken and Gobi Manchurian and I'm a happy camper!

Speaking of Art - great show going on in University Park this weekend - "Art on the Red" Saturday and Sunday! This is the construction relocated version of the Grand Cities Art Fest that used to be downtown (and will be again) but for now it's in a beautiful tree-shaded part of U Park near the spray park. It was very nice to go down, walk around the vendors, grab lunch from the GF Food Truck/aka/Steers Mobile NOW FEATURING some hot and spicy international food. Their line was AMAZINGLY LONG - good to see for Elias Dean! Also nice to see almost no one in a mask, people smiling - having a good time greeting old friends. Oh and there was also art! I bought some. Didn't think too much about it - just appreciated what someone else made and thought it was worth a few bucks. Try it! and if you're one of those "art critics" who think "I could have made that!" why didn't ya Cratter?

They have a restaurant in Devils Lake - same name, same owners. Authentic Mexican much like Casa Mexico on the East Side. Good and a good location for them compared to the EGF restaurant. They will be the only mexican on I-29 and 32nd but I went to EGF Hugos tonight at 8pm and Casa Mexico was packed! They are our favorite - try the Diablo Shrimp (SPICY) or Rodeo Fajitas - order to go and you will have food for days. Dining in is great too.

TRY IT! Support a local business downtown and maybe have something different for your taste buds! You might like it!
