The ball moved; it'd be ruled incomplete from that angle because of the UND helmet.
In a game what the ref called would be upheld.
It moved but looked to me like he had his hand unde the ball and it didn't touch the ground. Would need a better slowmo angle to be sure either way. Agree though good chance may hsve gotten ruled incomplete though initially.

Unless Romfo is head and shoulders above the other two, I don't think he gets named as the starter and I do think him being a PWO vs what are thought of as more highly touted guys, does subconsciously play a factor in that even though it may not be fair. Since the new OC wasn't involved in recruiting any of them though he may be more open to it.
If Romfo doesn't end up being the starter, at least if he gets in the could run the regular offense and have him throw some so the defenses couldn't just stack the box against him running only.
If his passing is pretty close to on par with they other two, and he is a much better runner....might be hard to keep him off the field.
If we are down by 20 at half in the first game and not looking great on offense I hope they give the next guy, or the next two guys a shot to see what they can do in a game.

no chance....miller writes up these articles every year about "______ lighting it up in camp".....and they are almost never to be heard from again.
I would probably agree with this. If Romfo is #2 you can say goodbye in the portal to whomever is #3. Which if Jerry ends up #1 and Trey #2, I'd say most likely Trey hits the portal anyway. I'm sure he'd like to play somewhere than just be a backup his entire college career.

UND beat an FBS team with a true freshman RB that was recruited as a WR. I’m sure they will be fine. I do think the Bison may not have a stranglehold on the #2 spot in the MVFC this year. They need to put it all together just like most of the league
Who in the MVFC do you see finishing ahead of them other than SDSU? I'd be pretty surprised if they don't finish at least #2 in the MVFC.

Sounds about right. Thinking we will be lucky if we keep them under 24 by halftime.

Sounds like Romfo had a great practice today.
Sounds like he has been connecting on some passes. Will be interesting if they put him in for some run packages at all this year. If they do end up doing that, seems like would be primed to maybe throw a deep ball and catch them off guard. So anxious to see how our offense is going to look with a new QB....whomever it is.

I have my doubts about South Dakota still….
Agree. I think they will be good....just not as good as they are being touted right now though. They got throttled by NDSU at home once NDSU was on a roll. They also got beat at home by 34 against SDSU. Think need to pump the breaks just a little on USD.

If a guy who started many games last year is #8 this year, to me that means have some pretty good depth. You definitely can argue the quality of that depth though. Sounds to me like 8 pretty reliable guys, however no proven playmaker other than Bo. I recall that from last year too about Nate, he started the first half of the year but I don't think he had a catch until like game 6 or something. We need some playmakers....I'm totally good with letting some of the younger guys get in there to see what they can do. Dennis was supposed to be our speed guy, but we haven't actually seen that much out of him. Maybe QB with stronger arm this year will change things a bit....we'll see.It would be nice if Deng is finally the guy with size, speed, and athletic ability that we've been looking for....and the type of WR's we've hated to play against in the past.

Our WR room is sounding very very deep. Lots of good options for either Jerry or Trey. Awesome news about the Defensive transfers looking good. I'm definitely starting to get excited for the season and to see how some of these new guys perform, particularly QB. It's sounding like they are both looking good, and even Romfo. If it's pretty even, man would be a tough choice. They might both need to see some live action to really be able to tell which one stands out.
Miller did say there were two badly thrown balls that were picked off, but he didn't say who threw them. Hopefully neither Trey or Jerry.

UND "hit well with the lower level transfers," per Tom Miller in his GFH weekly newsletter today. LB transfers will help, per his assessment, and says d-line transfers have impressed in 11-on-11 drills. He also speculated Hawks will pull the redshirt from Deng Deng.

Don't think I've heard Kliens name in Any of Miller's write ups. Hopefully he is fully healthy, seems like he was always dinged up. With a year under his belt at TE Q might turn into a solid recieving threat for us this year, sounds like he's had some red zone TD's.

If we hadnt lost 3 OL to the portal, my realistic expectation for an upset would be higher than it is.
We have 8 returning starters on the entire team, a QB who has never started and/or never played a snap of college football and 4 OL making their first start against a pretty good FBS team.
I'm hoping for a shock the world type of game and a win. But also looking to see if it looks like we have the players/athlete's and team that can compete at a high level. Also, can they make plays and overcome adversity when get put into a tough spot.

Klien over/under 15 receptions for the season this year? Last year he had 6, maybe should put the over/under at 10.

Will Tai have a breakout year??

Thank God....we can retire the old green tops with white sleeves and actually be proud to wear green jerseys again.....and can actually ready the numbers! Although will want to wait and see how 6,8 and 0 looks before we know for sure, and maybe 5 and 2. 7 was never the issue

So what are we watching for come fall camp? QB battle, obviously. Offensive line too. I just need to talk ball.
I've got 5 more days left of my 3 week stint back up in ND. Once I get back home and in my regular routine I'll definitely be anxious for the football talk to ramp up!
Saw Deng (sp?) on the local news last night throwing down an alley oop dunk in the Lions all star game. Only saw for a brief second, but looked thicker than I was maybe thinking. Will have to look for him on highlights tonight.

That will se the tone for season
we lay a dud there goes the attendance
The Montana game is one we need to pull an upset and I think we can do it at home. It would set the ton for the season, but we set the tone for the 2nd half of last season against NDSU and then crapped the bed. We don't do consistency very well. We may lose some other game we shouldn't, but I think the Montana game is a game we need.....for the season....and just overall morale of everything UND football related. After this past off season, we need a boost and the Montana game could do it!

Is USD getting too much hype? Feel like anytime I go on twitter I see stuff talking about them in the same breath as the xDSU’s and Montana’s right now. They certainly had a good year last year but it’s only one year removed from a 3-8 year. I know they have Bouman returning but no clue on the D, which I’d say was their strength. They could be legit, just an observation.
I think they are a little over hyped and don't expect them to end up in the top 6 coming rankings after the final regular season game. Could be wrong though, we'll see.
As the the other poster mentioned, they seem to be like us and not be very consistent. I'll be kinda pissed if they actually follow through and back up the hype..... because we have never been able to do that.

That is big time.
Was he one of our highly coveted guys, had lots of offers, or you just really liked his film....or all of the above? Took quick look at his hudl.....looks tall and athletic and can move.

Well the new OC should be pretty unbiased in his evaluation since he didn't recruit either of them. Trusting he will start the best option for the team and not play favorites. If Jerry is the starter and Trey doesn't really play this year, he'll surely be in the portal and wouldn't blame him.

Let’s go! Also had NDSU offer.
Is it just on my feed..... it's not showing who it is.

I'm sure there are opposites of this, but seems like many of the more highly thought of recruits we've gotten.....never turned into true stars. Molberg, Cloud, Sammy Fort, Q....and many others that had an FBS walk on offers or were highly thought of. Not to diminish them as they did contribute but were never all conference type of players. Santiago, Oliveira, Wanzek, Belquist and a whole host of others that were not as highly thought of became big names for UND. Was Turner a big time recruit? Man we could use a guy like him at OLB again!
That said, winning recruiting battles for guys with other quality FCS offers is a good thing!
