There are definitely culture issues on the road, but definitely scheme issues were a problem against YSU. To let them rush for 300 yards when they are a sub par team is just complete crap and should be embarrassed as a DC. We'll see if the scheme is improved today against another running QB.

If we would have beaten YSU and then ISU this weekend, the Alerus would have been completely rocking for SDSU!! I'm sure it will still be rocking, but it won't be the same. We were in contention to move up into the top 4-5 depending on how the two home South Dakota games went. The table was set, and we completely sh*t the bed on the road again just like always.

UND sent in Vaughn, who ran in a goal-line situation last week against Northern Iowa. The Hawks were expecting YSU to focus all efforts on Vaughn, allowing Vaughn to find tight end Jaden Norby sneaking out the play.
So the whole play relied on YSU not covering Norby when he ran out in the flat. The defender went with Norby....so play basically blown up at that point. Pinning the hopes of winning the game on the defense not covering a guy.
I wondered if they ran that play the previous week to set something up in the future. They did, and if it was 4th half a yard maybe the defense focuses 100 percent on the run. When I saw that formation my guess it was going to be some type of miss direction pass and the defense new it too.

No need to even interview Bubba after this game or during the week. Just queue up tapes from the past 12 years where we've lost to teams with losing records on the road.....its always the same.

If we played every game under Bubba's tenure at a neutral field he wouldn't be sniffing a .500 record. The only reason he has a winning record at UND is because of the Alerus Center.
