They screwed that one up.....had 1st and Goal.

I got home a little late, turned on the TV and the Bison had just scored and Wentz was 4-4 on the drive......was thinking crap......if they roll the Griz in MT.....we are in trouble when we go to Fargo. Since then it has turned into a game though.

I remember last year at the beginning of the year there was a lot of controversy by fans as to show should be starting after Joe struggled. So while we were taking our lumps last year I thought....."well at least by the end of the year we'll know who are starting QB will be going into the next year". Well then worse case scenario when Joe, and then Bartels went down. Even if Joe went down, it would have been nice to at least see Bartels start and play the last 4 games of the year to see what he could do. So at the end of the year we once again didn't know who would be our QB the next year......ugh the QB situation has been SO frustrating. On the positive side of that, if Studsrud turns out to be the best QB.....at least he got some experience.

Here are the stats I read in today's article for their career Mollberg: 10 TD's 18 INT's Bartels: 9 TD's 8 INT's Studsrud: 2 TD's 6 INT's Those are all really dismal numbers all the way around. Studsrud gets some slack as he was thrown in there, but has a lot to prove. Joe was playing well right before he got hurt, however 10 TD's and 18 INT's.....which would be the real Joe going forward, who knows. For us to be a playoff team, we have to have a QB who is at least in the top half of our own league, in my opinion. Going into this year that is certainly not the case, but I'm sure hoping they take a step forward. Why is it every time our offense has the ball I'm half afraid something bad will happen, INT...snap over the head etc. Hopefully that is in the past and we make big strides this year, but I'm certainly quite concerned about our QB play until I start seeing some good solid consistent play. Studsrud will make some mistakes early on, but hopefully he can make enough big plays to make up for it.

Not surprised many WYO fans think they will win by 3 or more scores. If we were playing a team a level below us, that was under .500 the year before.....I'm guessing most of us on here would be saying the same thing. So I don't have a problem with that, every fan base tends to be a little overly optimistic. I'm looking forward to hopefully making it a frustrating day for them however.. I do think that is pretty funny about NDSU fans being on that site and bashing us, does not surprise me one bit though. As I've said before.....for a championship team, NDSU has some of the whiniest, self conscious fans around.

We snapped the ball over the QB's head 5 times last year and had a horrible offense, we haven't proven anything to be ranked very high yet. Hopefully that is coming this year.

We hadn't heard from many Bison fans on this thread lately, it's good to know that we have a couple that are still checking our recruiting thread every couple of hours

Yeah I'm sure the dad and the kid made up the number 50.....and 5 also....just to embellish the story more and make it seem more realistic.

Ok...I'll step up and be the critic then lol. When I first opened it up to see the picture of them....I was like.......eh that's it......that's what all the hype is about? Maybe they will grow on me some.

Don't they usually say that in a 3-4 defense that the NG is a very important position? How do you guys think this will affect us this year potentially not having the type of NG we may want, and not much depth at that position?

My prediction for this year is 6-5 overall record, although I'm hoping for 7-4. I think those that think we will go 8-3 are living in lala land. Doesn't mean I don't hope we do, but it's just not going to happen. 6-5 would give us a winning record, even though it's not what we want....I think it is the most realistic. But I really want to win some big games this year and have a shot at 7-4.

I don't see 3 guys getting 1,000 yards, maybe 1 guy. I also don't see Smith getting 1,000 yards because he will likely only get limited carries early on because he is a true freshman, I just don't think he'll get enough carries to crack 1,000. I sure hope I am wrong on both of my statements however! I think the load will be distributed so it may be tough for any of them to get to 1,000.

We will focus on running the ball and being conservative. However I think we will mix it up a little to keep NDSU off guard, also set up a few plays to be potential big hitters. So I think it will be mostly conservative, but a nice mix of plays so that it's not always 3 yards and a cloud of dust. This is what our offense will be for NDSU and likely all year. I think we get your point that we can't just run it every 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down like we did at times last year. Rudolph will have a game plan prepared and ready to take advantage of certain situations. Our offense still has to execute much better than last year.

I think most of us over here realize Carson is a very good QB and likely have a very nice year. There may be some question marks or changes with your team, but you guys are just reloading at this point, Wentz will be fine....especially behind that line. Our bringing it up that he wasn't on the preseason team I think was more in surprise, that is why there was a question mark at the end of his statement. It was not a put down. We left the put downs to your entire 2011 class, as of course he had to fire back right away and state how we didn't have any lol. Seriously that guy is a..........well I won't say, I think we all know what he is.

Finally a Bison fan that gets it. Recruiting blogs are for people to think positive about the future, especially when your team has had a rough couple of years. I would hope every teams recruiting threads across the country are full of positive thoughts and hopes of a better team, but none of us know how any of these kids are going to pan out. I would say that Bison fans should be banned from this thread unless they have something productive to add, other than saying....Bubba hasn't proved anything yet, or tell us about a new recruit NDSU just got. We don't want or need to hear it. Also I think it is human nature to think every recruit you get is awesome. I think what most of us are excited about is that we do feel confident in what Bubba and his staff can turn them in to. I think many of us had our doubts about where Muss could take us. It's certainly possible that it doesn't all pan out with Bubba, but I think most of us genuinely feel he is going to do a good job and turn things around. Can't say that I was every too excited the last two years under Muss as to what we could accomplish those years. I am actually excited again. I do however think we will still take a lump or two this year, we have a ways to go but we sure seem to be on a much better track right now and it's refreshing.

Ok this is the point where an NDSU troll comes and says how Bubba hasn't done anything yet, and our recruits could all be crap. This is a recruiting thread, just like any other school in the country.....fans our going to positively speculate about our recruits and think positively about the future. You NDSU fans can stay on your recruiting thread, we don't need you here spouting.

And unfortunately for NDSU.........you are tied to them.

God help us if we end up being the North Dakota Nodaks. I've said it before......but I will be completely embarrassed when I hear the ESPN announcers say that the next time we are playing in the Frozen Four. I know there is a lot of people who hate Sundogs, but Sundogs is 10 times better than Nodaks. North Dakota Nodaks sounds ridiculous in my opinion.

Well I guess I was wrong then.....if I was thinking maybe they would be boring.....sure doesn't sound like they are! Now I'm even more curious to see them!

I usually don't come on here during the day, usually in the evenings. I just saw a post on FB about us signing him.....was so excited I had to come on! I've been back up in ND for about 4 weeks, flying back to AZ tonight.....this is some great news before I leave the great state of ND. Football isn't far away.....will really start to get excited about things now!

It is a little hilarious how addicted some of these Bison fans are to our UND site.

I'm just trying to keep my expectations low, and am hoping I am pleasantly surprised when I see them lol. I'm glad the players seem to like them, that is a good sign. You and some others have a closer feel as to if they really like them......or if they are being politically correct and just saying that. Even if they were horrible, I doubt you'd ever hear a player say it too much in public that they didn't like them.

Wow....took you 45 minutes to reply to Darrell's comment........on a UND fan site......on a blog related to two teams that are not your team. Glad you were having that much fun on a Saturday night you were trolling various blogs on Siouxsports.com so you could get a shot in. I feel for ya man, I really do.

Honestly, I'm a little scared to see them. Not sure if I'm going to like the green on green if that is what it's going to be. I think the matt helmets are a bit boring, I know it goes with the identify of our team though as a grind it out team though. We talk about how we need these uniforms to impress recruits, I have a feeling our new uniforms will likely be a bit boring. Not that I want a super wild and crazy uniform, but for an alternate uniform.....I wouldn't mind at least a little bit of flash. Will be curious to see them when they come out though!
