Wow guys....don't jump off the cliff quite yet. Senior lead Drake team with something to prove made us look really bad in the second half. Thanks to Drake for playing tough for 4 quarters. If this doesn't wake us up, nothing will. They are going to have to be a lot more focused and inspired, and just plain old a lot better next week to even have a chance. This certainly changes my perception of what could happen next week, if we play like this and turn the ball over it could be a blow out next week. That said I think Bubba and staff will be chewing some ass this week and I expect a much better performance next week. But man this was really disappointing.

Woops....I was on that thread all day, flipped over to this one....thought I had gone back to that thread...didn't realize I was still on this one.

Thank you Drake for playing hard the whole game, if this doesn't get the teams attention that they have to be way more focused and into it, nothing will. It does kind of change my perception of what could happen next week.

Man.....this second half is shades of last year....ridiculously ugly offense.

I think I'm going to fall asleep

Boy....this game leaves a lot more questions......instead of answering them.

Big run from Santiago coming
-
That first run that Santiago had in the second half that he ran for 7 yards, I think he is the only UND RB that would have made that run. We are going to need him to play to be a strong team, he is just going to have to learn very quickly he needs to hold on to the ball.
-
He is basically a troll, although he claims he is not a Bison fan. 95% of his comments on here are negative towards UND.
-
Marginally better? Yes the run game has been bad, but probably 200 yards passing and 3 TD's in the first half, and no snaps over the head. I'd say it's a little more than marginally better, however the fumbles and the lack of running is certainly concerning. But if they are focusing all on stopping the run, we have to prove we can beat teams through the air if that is what opponents are going to try and do. If we didn't fumble on the one yard line it would be 28-0, not a bad half time score. 21-0 isn't a bad halftime score either.
-
Lets see what kind of corrections they can make in the run game at half, run game looks like crap in the first half.
-
I'd like to see some runs to end the half.
-
Well it's better he gets the fumbleitis out of his system today....instead of next week. We can't put the ball on the ground 3 times in the first quarter next week.
-
Ouch that is going to hurt if we can't trust to give Santiago the ball this season.
-
I hate to admit it, but I'd take last years home uniforms over these. I'm not crazy about them.

I think all of us would be pissed if we got blown out, and disappointed. Like some others have said, it would somewhat depend on how the game played out as to how pissed or upset we were. If we turned over the ball 3 times in our own territory and you guys ran back a kick for a TD and things like that happened that is one thing. But if you guys consistently drove up and down the field on us that would be a sign we have a long ways to go. Even if we should happen to win though, we realize we have quite a ways to go. A month ago I think many UND people felt that getting blown out was certainly a possibility, and wouldn't be surprised. Now if we get blown out, I'll be extremely disappointed. Win or lose though, we still have the whole conference season ahead of us and it's just one game, but a pretty big game. If we should happen to win, will certainly help our playoff chances. A loss....whether it's close or a blow out is still 1 loss that will count against us and hurt us if we are close to making the playoffs.

I also was a bit unsure of the matte helmets and wasn't that crazy about them. But in watching some of the video highlights, I liked how it looked with our white jerseys. Will be interesting to see how they look with the green tops.

I remember a couple of months ago somebody posing the question back then, should UND win (which seemed a lot less likely a month or so ago) what would NDSU's excuse be.........Bad referee calls, injuries, they played poorly and had lots of turnovers..........or would they actually say we out played them. I just laughed when I read that, you know there will be excuses galore and would never admit we just beat them straight up. It sure would be nice to pull of that upset. Anybody hear if Wentz is going to play this weekend or rest his ankle?

My gut is telling me that the players are feeling somewhat similar to how we all are, that they loved last week......and are excited to get out on the field and do it, and prove it again. We didn't get too much respect coming into this season, rightfully so, but I think these guys are anxious to get back out there and show what they've got. Also there were enough mistakes for Bubba to impress on them that there still needs to be improvement. Almost two TD's called back due to penalty, penalty to push us back to the 7 yard line and then miss that field goal are a few. Having a long TD called back due to penalty, that is a total momentum killer, fortunately last week were able to overcome it.

I said earlier that we can't overlook these guys, and we can't. However now that we seem to have an actual offense I think we'll handle them. Last year when our offense really couldn't muster up 20 points on their own the during the first half of the year, you would still have to be a little worried. There wasn't much room for mistake last year, and if a pick six or something happened against us it was up hill for us. Last year if we got down 0-7 it felt like a hole, this year if we happen to get down 0-7.....I think it'll just be like....well let's go get that 7 back....and we have the weapons to do it. It's nice knowing that we don't have to only rely on 8-10 play drives to score, and that we can break some big plays and take it to the house. Hopefully that will continue all year.....fun seeing that again!!

Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton Conversation
Sioux94 replied to UND-FB-FAN's topic in NCAA News
We didn't just win, we held WYO to 29 yards rushing when they are a predominantly rushing team and wanted to run it down our throat, and we controlled the whole game start to finish. We realize it is just one win, but as homer stated......it has peaked the interest of the casual football fan that was previously not interested. And yes......that "My Oh My"........so annoying. Although I did enjoy texting "My Oh My" to my Bison buddies after Montana converted that 4th and goal, especially since they sent that same text to me after MT kicked their game winning field goal against us last year. -
I would pretty much agree with those percentages. I don't think we are going to jump up to 8-3 this year but it's possible. My previous prediction was 6-5, I'll bump that up to 7-4. As we saw from the other scores around the conference there are 6-7 other really solid teams in our conference this year. Not having to play EWU really helps us this year.
