  1. Totally agree...that was like punch in the gut on Saturday, but I've missed that feeling of a devastating loss.....because that means you are having meaningful games. That feeling is better than the crappy feeling of getting smoked by 30-40 points........again and again. We should have had that feeling of a big win on Saturday, but it's nice to know we can now realistically know we will actually feel that good winning feeling again more often than not going forward. The players may have legitimately felt going into the MSU and the Montana game that they were playing with a serious shot to win, I don't know if most of us truly felt that way......until now. Now I think both players and fans will go into those types of games......expecting to win, and that is a great feeling! Lets keep it going this weekend!
  2. It is kind of sad how some Bison fans have such incomplete lives they have to come over to a Sioux site....and continue to gloat. Get a life.
  3. Irish....do you really think they have completely ignored the snap issue and not mentioned it and focused on it in practice? Obviously the kid is still struggling....and I'm as pissed off about it as you...believe me....it is ridiculous. But blaming the coaches is like blaming Phil Jackson for Shaq's missed free throws.
  4. That is ridiculous!!!
  5. Seriously!!!!!
  6. We are driving the ball...and completely shutting them down on the run. If we can quit snapping the ball over our head and eliminate a few other errors....this is going to be a game!
  7. Can we get a center from one of the local High School teams come and snap the ball for us? You gotta be kidding me!
  8. That is why my prediction was 27-9.......with UND getting 3 field goals, will likely be tough for us to score a TD but I'm sure hoping we can make a couple big plays and get a TD...or two.
  9. 27 - 9 Montana
  10. I think using Norberg as a pounder.....and then using the other guys as a chance of pace could work well. It was awesome to see that one play....think it was 3rd & 4.....in the third quarter and the offensive line made a hole big enough for a bus to drive through....that was nice to see!
  11. That was a great play, part of me almost wished he saved that for a game...where the game was on the line and it was for a win or a tie or something. But yeah that was a great call, and getting the two was pretty big there to get us to 11.
  12. I'm thinking the botched snaps that happen even when he is under center......are probably on the center, he's had two horrible long snaps so far.
  13. I can't complain at all about our play calling this game...I think he is mixing it up pretty well. That was a nice little swing pass for a nice gain.
  14. I would say....lets get some points on the board right before the half.....but that would be silly talk. (but I will still hope)
  15. Lets hold them!
  16. I couldn't tell if our receiver had possession on that long one or not, but either way...great play call that was set up...and execution.....until the fumble.
  17. And here we go
  18. He starred the receiver down....and throws a long out when there are 2-3 Montana guys right there.
  19. Just when I was thinking Mollberg was playing 'ok'.
  20. That was a high snap....didn't look like Mollbergs fault.
  21. I'll definitely take 3-0 after one quarter, and we have the ball
  22. 45 - 13 MSU
  23. I know this is an Offensive Coordinator thread.......but I just got back from the UCLA - ASU game.....if Schmidt is looking for a pay raise he should apply as the ASU Defensive coordinator. At least the Sioux defense is now fundamentally sound....thank goodness. For ASU being #15 in the country, they couldn't tackle.....blew coverages....late hit out of bounds, that was a seriously ugly defensive game.
  24. I don't think those of us that are saying we would like some more creativity in the offense are wanting Mollberg to chuck the ball around like Peyton Manning. However lets say we did actually throw twice on first down during the game. Lets say those are incomplete passes......I guess that gives the other team an extra 60-90 seconds of potential TOP during the entire game. Is that 90 seconds that we didn't 'run the clock' really going to cause us to lose the game? Heck, we might even complete one of those passes and maybe even get a first down out of it, then we can do the three runs up the middle. Could he throw end up throwing a pick 6? Yeah he sure could, but probably less likely to throw a pick on first down when they are not expecting it than when it is third and 6. Or unless maybe those people are saying we have no capability of throwing and should just scrap that completely and not throw one time during the game because something bad could happen (ok being a little sarcastic there with the not throwing even one time during the game). Everyone seems to love the fact that we are changing to a ground control and strong defense, and some of you have even mentioned how well it can work for the Bison. I am totally on board with a solid defense as the foundation, and ground control. I just looked up the Rush/Pass attempts for 3 of the Bison games (since some have referred to how it works for them) Iowa State Rush 26 Pass 31 Weber State Rush 29 Pass 43 Montana Rush 55 Pass 24 I certainly don't want us passing 43 times again, but I think those of us looking for creativity are just wanting a bit more balance. And I'm guessing even NDSU and other ground offenses throw on first down on occasion just to mix it up. Running the clock out at the end of the game is always good, but you don't want to play too much 'not to lose'. The MSU game is likely to be higher scoring and we will surely be bound to throw a bit more, and I'm really hoping what geaux_sioux is true and that Rudolph has been playing extra close to the vest the first 4 games. I think what some of us want is a few more small wrinkles in the offense, and you don't have to scrap your overall philosophy to do that. And you know what, to ever get to a championship level you generally have to throw one or two wrinkles into your game plan, or throw once or twice on first down even if you are conservative. Some talk about building our philosophy, well I hope our philosophy is to not always be this predictable in the future. Maybe the wrinkles won't work against MSU or other top teams this year, but I'd like to see us try......as I'm pretty sure we are going to be losing these games anyway, so lets try and not go without a fight. I'd rather lose taking one or two swings and say I tried. Plus that helps build our philosophy of players know the coaches are going to come up with a wrinkle or something in the game plan to potentially put our team at a coaching advantage. I think this will be a telling game and I'll be interesting to see the play calling on the offensive side.
  25. I'm going to go with UND 17, SB 13......even though I think it may very well be the other way around, but this may be one of the last games this year that I will be able to predict a UND win (unfortunately), so I'm gonna go with the Sioux on top in this one because we really needs this one!
