  1. Yes, of course there are instructions left behind by GT if an offer is accepted: Step 1: Entirely change the offer, making it so ridiculous, no FCS school would ever think of signing it. Step 2: Repeat.
  2. I didn't realize the team that had the better previous year, always gets to host..... Scheduling must be a nightmare for all these AD's.
  3. Great points made above; I've never thought that far into it before. Maybe a one time in Fargo for the going price, and seal up a home and home at the same time for a total of 3 games... But yeah, as far as bending any more than that, it just doesn't make sense. My email will be sent as well.
  4. Are we sure he's going to agree to a below market payday? If he is, then I agree with you. But maybe he's using his statement as leverage: UND is willing to play two on the road, so ndsu better at least offer a decent guarantee, or they can forget it.
  5. 4-1, right? Even tho its been awhile, its still our home away from home.
  6. With that FU degree, looks like you'll have a life of laughter ahead of you.
  7. Thanks for the links. Reading how gene Taylor sent out proposals, changed his mind, and then changed his mind again, is quite amusing.... The guy must like arguing with himself. If ndsu could afford to pay a decent guarantee comparable to what UND would get from an FBS team minus travel cost savings, I suppose two games in Fargo is a place to start- someone has to be the man in these negotiations and it sure doesn't appear anyone at ndsu is up for the role.
  8. Lets try getting a little closer to on topic again. Ndsu scheduled another home and home big sky opponent.... Does this show there may be a willingness in the future to do the same with UND? Also, i thought scheduling was strictly an AD's job... So who made the decision down there? Dorn? Bresciani? Little Bo Peep?
  9. Boy I don't know.... UND went 6-0 in major sport "Super Bowls" last year according to FU. A 7th Super Bowl in one year might be too much excitement for the fans!
  10. The FU motto: Anyone, anytime, anywhere... (Except for UND- we're too afraid of them.)
  11. How about the UND Spirit Lake Sioux. Have them vote again if needed, give them a generous percentage of merchandise sales. Have someone from Spirit Lake design a similar but new logo.
  12. Not sure what you're getting at here... I think Sioux have a greater connection to the region than a cavalry unit that trained in the southwest before embarking on the first Cuban reality series, entitled "Dude, Where's My Horse?" It just seems you're grasping at straws to connect rough riders to North Dakota. If you like the name rough riders, fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But people liking the name rough riders because it is part of North Dakota heritage is just plain inaccurate and false.
  13. Color me green and white, but I guess I don't understand the obsession with teddy Roosevelt or what influence he had on the university of north Dakota.
  14. so...."Rough" for short? uhhh.....ok.
  15. I agree any name can be made fun of. I should have expanded more on why I don't like roughriders.....it's not just because of the connotation. I just plain don't like the name. Plus, and more importantly, it's a complete fallacy of that this group was part of north Dakota's heritage. It's been promoted by the ND State Tourism Department, Medora, etc., to the point people now believe the Roughriders had anything to do with north Dakota. (yes, I realize Teddy liked North Dakota and spent some time here...) I would encourage anyone with a few minutes to read the actual, factual history of the Roughriders that some are suggesting we nickname UND after. The Roughriders history reads like a Monty Python script. here's a synopsis: Around a thousand volunteers were gathered in four areas: Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. They trained in the heat to prepare themselves for Cuba. They trained on horseback as a cavalry. But, due to the stupidity of a Major General who instructed them to leave for war before transportation was arranged, 1/3 of the 12 companies had to stay home, along with most of their horses and pack mules. The men were severely hampered by not having the horses they trained for battle with, or the mules to carry their supplies while in Cuba. So, the roughriders left their horses at home. Brilliant! 1/4 of the men that trained, died of malaria or yellow fever. Yeehaw! Bully! Sodbusters, or Homesteaders are good names.
  16. USC adopted the nickname Trojans in 1912, This was before Trojan Co. was formed. So, not quite apples to apples. I don't think UND should choose a name alot of people associate with condoms. not sure what you mean about "Kardashian".... any animal would be recognizable. I would love the name Pioneers. but with Denver having that nickname, i'm sure it wouldn't be an option. If we're going to stick with the theme of trying to honor or recognize something North Dakota in the new nickname, Pioneers would honor the people that settled north Dakota. Plus they're the ancestors of a lot of us. People that came here 130 + years ago with virtually nothing, and survived their first winter or two living in a sod house on the river banks...eventually developing our cities, and state. Brave, courageous, and a no quit attitude. But, I know it'll never fly....we'll end up with something that sucks instead.
  17. Most people stopped on the street can't name the leader of the house or senate.... I doubt they know the actual history of 1200 plains cowboys that fought in the Spanish American war. The 18 - 22 year old demographic will go to the innuendo I was referring to in a landslide.
  18. Thanks for the link. I think that article proves why Fullerton is being proactive, rather than pulling a Viverito and burying his head in the sand.
  19. Lol! None of my ideas are going to work!
  20. How about the Green and Shiite?
  21. Most of the country has never heard of the Rough Riders. But modern culture is certainly aware of the sexual innuendo associated with those two words. We already have one perverse nickname in the state with the Bi-son; lets not make it two.
  22. I would sure love to see Memorial renovated. Enter the bison faithful, refuting FBS talk in 3....2....1....
  23. Whatever the new nickname is, it will suck compared to Sioux. So if we absolutely have to even have a nickname, lets go with: Here comes your University of North Dakota New Nickname Sucks! It would at least reflect the majority's feelings. I could see myself purchasing a sweatshirt saying UND New Nickname Sucks, long before I'd buy a rough rider sweatshirt.
  24. We got spirit, yes we do, we got spirit, cuz they took Sioux.
  25. What if the gods protest the name?
