  1. Maybe you should cut off his left foot so he can't run from the cops again. Have you ever met an addict who's 6 months in Stillwater or St. Cloud did them better than treatment? I haven't. But then maybe you hang out in different circles than I.
  2. Anyone who has never self-medicated with any substance for any reason may cast the first stone. Chronic pain is a monster, the addiction process is very complex and often mis-understood by those who have no experience with it. I hope the kid has the support structure and mental wherewithal to beat this. I wish him the best.
  3. Once I was in Forida trying to find a Sioux Hockey game on satellite. I called around and found the game at Hooters. They were very accomodating; service was great and the food was excellent.
  4. I posted earlier that Lucia has to play him, or he may lose him sooner rather than later. Every series he sits on the bench reduces his signing bonus (if there is even a bonus left). So economically, it maks sense for him to sign for what he can get ASAP and get some ice time in the minors rather than polish pine in the WCHA. My prediction: If tDon doesn't play him in one of the next two series, he's gone before March.
  5. "I put it to you, Greg: Isn't this an indictment of the entire educational system?"
  6. I'm not certain the Devils organization wants their highly drafted goalie sitting on the bench in Minnesota the rest of the year, either. And if Jeff has no problem with sitting, they should be doubly concerned. Although I will not be happy (or Happy, for that matter) if he sits the next two series and signs, I will not be surprised. My Cred: I have a college athlete for a son who likes sitting as much as he likes homework
  7. Am I the only person here who thinks if Frazee doesn't play in the next couple of series for the Gophers that he is a flight risk to sign early? Consider that he is a junior getting no ice time, and if Kangas carries the Goph's, probably limited time next year. He knows his stock is going down every game he is sitting on the bench. I think Lucia recognizes this and HAS to play him or lose him in February. My Cred: I sat near Don while my son beat his son at the Minnesota Bantam A championships
  8. It's on Comcast channel 13 in White Bear Lake.
  9. No I was a young alum back then. Those were the last players I remember verbally abusing before I matured. I am soooooo much older and wiser now. My cohort included Ludwig, Patrick, Jensen, Sykes, White, Carroll, Dachysyn, Murray.....
  10. Naw, he got sick of some of us: http://forum.siouxsports.com/index.php?sho...=9938&st=0#
  11. Man, I'm not Dude, he left the forum yesterday I shoulda left a smiley. We had a 10 year hiccup from 87-97 with a ton of talent and not much hardware to show for it. I know what you're sayin' about history. And yes, no one would have predicted the Gopher problem this year, until Stoa got hurt. He was probably the one guy on their entire squad Lucia couldn't replace. Now it's Kangas.
  12. Makes you wonder about Tyler Hirsch, huh.
  13. One year out of eleven? I guess the exception makes the rule. Thank you
  14. Thery're leaving! OMG!! Why didn't anyone say anything??? What ever will we do??? Pull the fire alarm! Call Hakstol! It is apparently hard for fans of other teams to wrap their heads around the concept, but in North Dakota, the Sioux don't rebuild, they reload. It isn't a cliche, it's the real world. Sheesh, I would be more worried about THIS year if MY team was making travel arrangments for the first round the WCHA tourney. But then I am not like fans who would jump ship during a year of adversity and troll about other teams websites. But that's just me. To each his own, I say.
  15. Yeah what implosion? Here in Gopherville we are always under .500 in the WCHA, have top skaters leaving mid-season, lower than 15 in the PWR, have a sports psychologist visit with the team, lose to AHA teams, and bench our #1 goalie throughout the year. I don't know what you are talking about. Situation normal... My Creds (for Hockey Dude): U of M alum '96
  16. I should be there Saturday with Squirt: all 6' 210 lbs of him.
  17. That explains it: My Dad hunts pheasant with a lab and drink scotch with water...
  18. Drambuie? We are talking about Team "Spirits" here right?
  19. one hand on a scotch and water My vizsla knocks over the glass when someone adds water to my single malt. He is well trained
  20. Me, I feel kinda bad for HockeyDude. He is obviously a huge fan of TJ's and takes some of what is said here very personally. I quit ripping on college kid's behavior about three years after I graduated from college, and that includes kids from other teams. I think Millen and Snuggerud were the last...felt I was getting too old for that stuff. I save it for coaches and referees and fans now. And ONLY when they deserve it. Not that I 'm telling you all to follow in my tracks, I'm just saying it works for me. God knows I can't cast stones when it comes to college antics. TJ's transgressions (for which he was caught anyway) pale in comparison to what I got away with. And I will happily provide my hockey creds to HD or anyone who wants them. Not much there. I reached my level of hockey competence as a door opener for the squirts, who called me "coach" for doing that. God Bless all the Sioux players and coaches and the fans that love 'em. (and no one else )
  21. So RMN is saying CC will NOT be a number 1 seed at the end of the year?
