  1. Awww, PCM you beat me to it. (and Basil, too.) Two years ago there was talk about how a new recruit named Parise would be the top forward and take care of defense and goaltending for the Sioux. I guess they weren't exaggerating!
  2. Hey Basil, How's it going, eh. Did I say UND has the TOP defenseman in the country? (BTW, in the States down here, defenseman is spelled with an 's'). I asked them all to "step it up" (with tongue in cheek I might add). I ain't the one with a "Jones for Hobey" or "Schnieder for Hobey" or "Green for Hobey" signature. I haven't any blinders, just making light of INCH. The Sioux goaltending has been questioned all year by many and now INCH slights Sioux defensemen. And yet some how, some way, the team has the best team defense in the nation. (If you are to believe the stats ). I was just looking for a reason how that could be. Perhaps you could lend your opinion. Please don't take my pokes at INCH so personally. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings in some way.
  3. Having the lowest goals against in the WCHA must be due solely to our superior goaltenders. IF you are to believe INCH, the logical extension of their argument is that UND has the best goalies in college hockey. Or perhaps its our incredible two-way forwards covering for the absence of quality defensemen? Kudos to the forwards and goaltenders for giving the Sioux the top defense in the nation. If Green, Jones, Bina, Schnieder, and Smaby could just step it up a little, instead of being carried by Parise and Brandt, maybe we'd be ranked #-1 in the nation
  4. Oh, you're just gonna love that Wayzata Bantam A coach. Good luck!!
  5. Even if you're the principal's kid???
  6. I just finished a boat-load of research into this and discovered that less than half of all games end up with winners, not only for hockey but other sports!!!! And half the teams in these sports end up with losing records!!!! How does this build self-esteem when half the kids end up losers every night??? Those kids from Monticello/Buffalo/Big Lake, while not having the best talent, got to skate with players who will someday play Division 1 hockey. Maybe even threw a check at Lee or Ammerman. They can take heart in that, I surely would. I still tell my kids that I played JV football against Dale Lennon and kicked his butt and took names!! One issue that was not addressed here is the fact that kids from the MBBL schools open enrolled at some other schools, including I believe Elk River. Every year the Elk River hockey coach has to defend himself against charges of recruiting. Where there is smoke....
  7. 2 of us in Section 118 row 8. Shall be a fun weekend. My dream matchup would be to beat the Moron and Gold Axis of Evil on Friday and revenge against the Red Menace on Saturday. Beating the forlorn Bulldogs 6 times before the NCAA's would just be piling it on. I just love seeing the look on all those corporate gooofer fans' faces when they find out the Goophs aren't the greatest team in the world.
  8. Kudos to Joe's for the fun time. We should really had a master of ceremonies for the pre-game. My better-half said I was too old to start the chants and songs. Hopefully the rest of the games will be on my FSSN satellite receiver.
  9. Sioux7, The man to talk to is Pete. Here is his post from an earlier discussion: "I am a independant satellite installer from St Paul MN. I specialise in Ku band satellite installs. Whatever you do dont ask a DirecTV or Dish installer to point your dish or install it as they dont have to right satellite meter to find Ku satellites, I do, feel free to e-mail me with any questions about satellite. installsat@aol.com 6517689150" If you live in the MSP (Heart of Darkness) area he can fix you up for about the price of a season ticket. The feed from the satellite is free after that. It has been and will continue to be defintely worth it. Still hoping I can either find tickets for the game this weekend or at least have satellite link.
  10. Yes, I've ben able to save hundreds of dollars in beer and app dollars this year by purchasing the KU band satellite receiver. Atmosphere at home is not as fun as Joe's, however.
  11. Thanks CRR, I'll keep checking to see if the situation changes.
  12. Does that mean it's on FSSN saturday for us satellite owners trapped behind enemy lines?
  13. I suspect he grew tired of embraces with goats.
  14. It's obvious he came to this website to find who fathered his wife's children
  15. Yeah, I was a freshman, too. Made the long march from West Hall to the Winter Sports Arena. You get spoiled watching teams like that.
  16. Having terminated with extreme prejudice countless Richardson's ground squirrels, thirteen-striped gophers, and even a few prairie dogs as a youngster, I would tentatively identify them as Richardson's, which are called flickertails by some and gophers back home. Anyone besides Carl licensed to kill these guys?
  17. Bob Iwabuchi for the Sioux back in the late 70's & early 80's. He was of Japanese decent, I believe.
  18. Thanks for the program update. I was unaware of Sioux Illustrated TV. Can't watch tonight, I'm a season ticket holder for White Bear Lake High School hockey. But I will tune in tomorrow night. Is there any other Sioux sports (basketball or womens hockey) scheduled on FSSN this winter? Thanks
  19. I promised Pete I'd post my "customer satisfaction" on the board. I had Pete install a satellite receiver about a month ago, and the reception is excellent. It is as clean as my DirecTV. You won't be seeing me at Joe Sensor's watching the Sioux. The dish will pay for itself with the savings on chicken wings and beer alone. Pete also re-adjusted my DTV dish, which was poorly installed. It was worth having him come out just to do that. If anyone out there ever has signal fade on their DTV or Dish system, I would suggest you call Pete. Since he re-aligned my DTV dish, we've never lost signal, even in the lousiest weather. Before Pete helped, any snow and light to moderate rain killed our signal. And his technical support after-sale is great, too. He walked me through the menus over the phone when I couldn't get a game in December. Looking forward to this weekend's series. I'll get to watch most of it, working around my son's high school hockey schedule (that always comes first). Go Sioux
  20. I stopped by Senser's in Roseville earlier this week. They have Victory Sports, too. It should be on there as well for those of us from the north end of the cities.
  21. No, sorry, that doesn't ring a bell. I'm just drawing a blank, too.
  22. Finally registered after lurking for a half a year. I just had Pete (PSB) install the KU band satellite. Does anyone know if there is a Sioux Sports Network Schedule? It appears that this game is not being broadcast on KU band Satellite. Either that or I'm not figuring out my satellite remote. Thanks for any help...
