  1. I haven't seen it, but you would sure think so?
  2. Great win for Twinkies last night! I was eying another game this month, but the one that works is against the Yankees. Seats I paid $73, including all fees, for to see them beat the Cubs, are right around $100 for that game once you get the fees ($88 face price). I think I'm going to skip it...
  3. I started that way, but since then I've just kept the screen open in my browser, and every time I go to internet, I vote 5 times before going to my intended place. No idea how many hundreds of votes I've cast today.
  4. They also compare the Bison to Alabama Crimson Tide. Can't take them seriously...
  5. I've known of basketball players that had them reduced and even pulled. Not at UND, but I would guess the same principles would apply?
  6. Yep, summer is always the worst. I wonder how many of the people involved in these recent events were in the oil patch a year ago, then migrated to Fargo when things slowed down out west? It just doesn't seem to be long-time residents having the issues.
  7. Matt Cooke is a free agent, too. Maybe he can join Rinaldo in Boston? Then they could trade for that POS Ott, and the Bruins could be the most hated team in the NHL. :/
  8. I can't/won't speak for anyone else, but my reaction was based on the idea that they may have told friends "If that money is there after next year, I'm leaving" so those teammates saw this as the last chance to award their friends with a letter. Pure speculation. Doesn't mean squat. But if you wonder where the idea came from, that was my thought.
  9. Friday night was definitely more enjoyable than Saturday afternoon for us. Some very obnoxious Cubs fans afterward in downtown. I finally turned to one guy and said, "Funny, but I don't remember hearing you last night?". After that, we had a pretty good time stimulating the Msp economy...
  10. Crazy as those greens were - the entire course, really - I won't call it a choke. Spieth almost blew it with a 3 put of his own, and it took 4 days to get to that point with lots of missed opportunities for everyone who played.
  11. Maybe dozens? Maybe 1? None? The reality is simple; Liability. If someone drinks, I can find out what their BAC is if they cause or have an accident, insurance will not penalize me for their choices, and they can be responsible for themselves. There is no way to measure how high someone is at the time of an accident - 36 hours ago can look the same as 36 minutes ago in a tox-screen. No one wants to see somebody gored with a forklift because Jim-Bob came to work high when he promised "only on the weekends", but now he's compromised. LOL - there's also the often all-too-true stereotype that potheads have trouble getting motivated and doing things like showing up on time...
  12. Love it! They're showing some life (albeit based on good pitching) just in time for me to see them against the Cubbies tonight and tomorrow. Go Twinkies!
  13. I totally see what you're saying, but every team has things go wrong every season - it's how they overcome those issues that matters. I have to wonder if the Kings aging of that core is catching up? In the cup year, they should have been knocked out in the first round (seriously!). Good on them for sticking together and getting hot, but if they had lost game 4, 5, 6, or 7 and been eliminated in round one and then missed the playoffs last year, as they did, they'd be getting Toronto odds...
  14. Sorry if I wasn't clear. That part about the elders vs the younger generations was in regard to the assimilation comment that I quoted. As for their work ethic - they're human, so I've seen hard workers and lazy asses from all age groups. I have come to find that it's impossible to separate who will be a good worker by skin color or place of birth or family type. Some people are hard workers. Some are natural leaders. Some are unemployable.
  15. This ^^^. Working in manufacturing environments in Fargo, I've been through the Bosnian influx in the early 2000's and now we're seeing a lot of applicants from several of the African countries. The older people hold onto their customs much more tightly. Seeing people enter the workforce now, who came to the US as children, they stand in stark contrast to their elders. As for what they bring to the table; for me it's been a workforce. There simply are not enough employable* people in this area, and to find an honest, drug-free, hard working person, I don't care if they came from Mars! *By employable, I mean someone who can show up on time, work an entire shift, and pass a drug screen. It is utterly amazing how many people in their 20's, 30's and 40's can't accomplish these simple requirements. These are adults who are old enough to know better and were raised by people who worked hard their entire lives. SMH.
  16. Given this year's playoffs, unless they lose a lot of players, TB is pretty good. The Coyotes don't even have ice as of now, so they'd still be a bad call at 10,000/1. I don't get the Kings odds, either...
  17. D'oh! I didn't even have Gage on the list!
  18. First hit, but they still lost. Currently trailing while in a rain delay. Where, oh where, has that May magic gone??
  19. Buxton looked rough at the plate, but scoring the winning run is never a bad thing.
  20. It's many things besides a historical hockey name. But right now, most of all, it's one of the better options from this list of 15. We're getting stuck with one of them, and I'd rather it be North Stars than Sundogs.
  21. Note - all three incidents involve the same people. If you don't want to be part of our community, don't come here. And if you come here and act like this, expect to be removed.
  22. Exactly. Those two are by far the worst, IMHO, followed by anything with "Green" included, then Sundogs. I still like North Stars, and could live with Calvary, Rough Riders, or even Nighthawks, when compared to the others.
