i'd be fine without trying passes to the flats right now. Run the ball, don't risk a incompletion stopping the clock or a defender jumping the route for a pick 6.
-
the Midco coverage of the Missouri State defense going to commercial they just look deflated. Time to put them down.
-
We are a totally different animal from the first drive even right now. First half pressure on the QB was little. Now seem to be getting back there.
-
I like when we have the big plays more than when we were giving up the big plays. Smith running reminds me alot of Santiago when he gets loose.
-
Why are we not able to kick it through the end zone anymore?
-
The defender in the flat had no idea where the WR was and just kept running to the sideline. Kinda funny to watch
-
Look like defender was there early and all over the back of Maag before ball arrived.
-
so double reverse halfback bubble screen pass?
-
If Tommy didn't stumble for a split second that may have had a chance. MOST also seems to have guys who can move fast, and our guy was not going to move fast at all.
-
there has been alot of different things that go against the coaching motto of play till the whistle. Things such as players giving themselves up being defenseless, playing without a helmet, even seen things such as excessive blocking being called before as unnecessary roughness.
-
well now he has been taught not to play without a helmet.

The difference in yardage would've been nice if on that overthrow from MSU on 3rd down the deep coverage guy would've made a little more attempt at possibly picking it off. Punt pushed us back. Also one of the receptions the guy had a chance to step out of bounds and cut back in with little gain and clock kept running.
-
the view from the back instead of the side it appears his back was down on the turf before the ball came loose. That was probably the right call. The PI though, was not.
-
So overall our D is bad. Pass D bad. Run D bad. Got it
-
The defender was crashing down hard. Maybe if he ran right away but by the time he threw it the defender was right on him. Not sure how that guy crashing in didn't open up a receiver.

The original plan for the Betty was much nicer layout and I believe was supposed to be a bowl seating. But If I remember right the plans were changed and simplified for 2 reasons. 1. Finding and 2. To hurry up completion for the world Juniors so there was not a construction zone and to be used for some festivities during that time.

I know some that first year though Potato Bowl was homecoming as that week was always a lot more events and build up talk than any other.
-
I had forgot that Schwenzfeier moved to Safety from his previous OLB coaching position. I believe back in like 2018 Bubba was coaching deep secondary/safeties and that was a week spot and thats why some movement went on. Also we should be able to get pressure without sending multiple guys on blitz every play. SIU had no problem with our blitzing and were not getting penetration from what I noticed. We used to be able to send one up the middle or bluff and allowed some speedy edge to get in the backfield.
-
Hey we ran the play we should've on 1st and goal from the 3 earlier in the game...
-
What is the rule for cutting a guy below the knees? The SIU RB did it to the blitzing UND Defender from the outside. Just dove at the knees of the guy going full speed.
-
We have rarely used the portal for much. Pretty much every team we have played have atleast one FBS drop down if not more, and I can't really remember any for us, or impactful ones atleast. I think a QB a few years back?
-
Alot of not wrapping up today as well. On that run to set up 1st and goal it looked like #11 came and threw a block in the back. What you couldn't do, was give up a TD there...
-
SIU could do WR screens/pass to flats all day and get 7 yards a attempt. Our D plays so far off the line and leaves wide open.
-
They thought he looked good doing that in the Big Sky which was built as a passing conference.
-
a few years ago we had a defense that we could let off the pressure, drop into coverage and had a 3 or 4 front that could get in the backfield as well as contain.
