Darrell: Thanks for this post. Do you have a link to this year's attendance? Numbers for Big Sky schools. Certainly UM and MSU are the leaders, but is Sac St third? Where does UND rank in the Sky?
-
The loss to SUU last night seems to show that UND is well prepared for the first game of a weekend, but not so much for the second. Maybe it's just mental from a youthful team. The loss to SUU also shows UND isn't surging as much as previous matches indicated. The timing of the matches - Friday noon for the quarterfinals and Friday evening for the semifinals - is not a schedule that UND thrives on. Now think it takes a miracle to win this.

Teams are not seeded in the FCS, except the top 5. Teams outside the top 5 get home games by bidding the highest. It may be JV, but the FCS is JV, so what's your point? National advertisers are not exactly jumping out of their shorts to support the FCS. The FCS playoffs have a budget to live under.
-
Taylor b****hes about everything. The FCS playoffs are about money and minimizing travel expenses: they have a budget to be concerned about. EIU to SDSU is a bus trip. SDSU to NDSU is certainly a bus trip. The FCS playoff committee isn't going to send a Florida or East Coast team to Fargo unless there is no other way. To somewhere like Cheney, a team is going to have to fly. But by setting up an SDSU to Fargo trip, it saves money. Why send SDSU/EIU to Cheney with a flight, and then send an east coast team to Fargo? To save money. The FCS playoffs, especially with the expansion to 24 coming up, can not run deficits. The same crap is done in the NCAA basketball tournament to sell tickets and save travel expenses.

Such a low life poster: bizon masquerading as a UND fan. Looked at your history and its all the same bull !@#$ posts. You a**holes will never move on.

Epic!!! Wow. Epic to you must be needing a laxative. Going 2-9 or 1-10 is an epic failure. Honestly, expecting an FBS win over SDSU. If that defines epic failure, quess you are an epic loser. BTW, the conference doormaat is ISU, followed by Weber. This teams defense suck and lacks a running game. Those are the issues. Whether Mussman can solve those issues is a whole other story. Certainly, some of the staff needs to go. This team has an incredible receiving corps that fans have never seen before. The right additions to the OL and D and coaching upgrades - as well as a QB that steps in - would make a huge difference. Anyone expecting the first go around in the Big Sky to be a playoff level performance was simply delusional to begin with.

Did you emails resemble the professionalism of your posts? Just saying.

Saw Faison hired Randy Magill as new financial officer. So what happened to Scott Herring? Don't recall any announcement of him leaving and a search didn't reveal anything. Herring had a high-powered NBA background.

At 6'3", a gal gets a lot of volleyball recruiting attention: http://nebraskaradio...-to-2013-class/

Looks like UND missed out on a 6' middle hitter (that may be moved to OH) to Notre Dame. http://www.kearneyhub.com/sports/local/hub-territory-players-sign-letters-of-intent-to-play-volleyball/article_0fa275ee-2f3b-11e2-8be0-001a4bcf887a.html

With EWU winning over ISU, the UND's wins last weekend over EWU and PSU are all the more impressive. EWU could have been a top team with their current lineup. UNC may be overlooking UND too because of their wins here and in Greeley. It's hard to beat a team three times in a row, especially with UND improving. But with the tournament in Greeley, that may be the key to UNC.

Steffen isn't listed as a NLI signee at NDSU, so she must be a preferred walk on there. Except for setters, liberos, and defensive specialists, a gal under 5' 10" or less has major obstacles to gain a DI scholarship. The liberos and defensive specialists often don't get scholarships, as height is so coveted.

Anna Pioske, a 5'11' outside hitter from Waconia, has committed to UND based on a Star-Tribune report. Some recruiting services had listed her as the #10 prospect in the state, with most of those above her going to top 20 programs. NDSU is getting totally dominated recruiting wise by UND in the two big women's sports they share.
-
In spite of the close road loss to NAU, that plus the PSU win seem to indicate that UND has improved during the course of the season. Where they need improvement is the second match of the weeknd.

What's the scoop on Erin O'Toole of Hopkins and Leah Szabla of Brooklyn Park? UND seems to be picking up a lot of players from TC power programs. -
In DI women's VB, 12 full scholarships are allowed. Scholarships can't be shared either. So if a half scholarship is given for some reason (like budgets), the other half can't be given. Some of the UND girls are non-scholarship/walk on players that must play into a scholarship. Perhaps others were given a one-year scholarship, with future years dependent on progression.

The RR gal is 5' 9', which is a bit short for an OH hitter. Kira Larson of Fargo North signed with Nebraska, which is normally a top 5 program.

The Herald is reporting that Huff took a hit on the head during the KSU game. Huff is being held out of the Crown game as a precautionary measure.

So what will this mean for UND's Aerospace School: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203937004578079391643223634.html'

Who is this "we"? Since when are FU fans in the "bigsky", other than before they rejected you?
-
Thanks! Nice post. So Brewster is going to redshirt most the freshmen?
-
Ya, we know. The Bizon are clearly the talk of Kansas St fans, Oregon fans, Notre Dame fans, ESPN, Fox, CBS, NBC. Crimson Tide fans are wishing they could be the bizon, now. Everywhere everyone is talking about the bizon.
-
Was guard play the problem? Turnovers? Shooting? This doesn't bode well. The Mothershed girls might be missed more than I thought.

Sac St draws somewhat decently for football, especially against Davis and Poly. They might actually be third in the conference this year. NAU hasn't drawn much for anything, although football may be much better now.
