  1. I've seen plenty of stomachs on NDSU fans. Grand Forks doesn't have the capacity to feed those monsters.
  2. The coaching that Richman did this year far exceeds what Miles and Phillips did. He only used seven guys, and Jacobson is not yet consistent (although he was only a redshirt freshman). Their other dance teams were much more talented. What Richman did with the talent he had is almost breathtaking. LA was there, who seemed to be a finisher, as NDSU won almost all their close games. Richman has a future. Only problem is that he may not leave NDSU. We've got to up our game.
  3. Idaho was actually decent in FBS when they were in the Big West. But California schools dropped football, and the Big West went to bus league, kicking out NMSU, Utah St, Idaho, etc. Idaho used to be in the precursor of the PAC8, so Idaho fans somehow think that they have a right to play FBS. When Boise St left the Big Sky, Idaho was bound and determined to follow, even without stadium improvements. If Idaho drops football, the Big Sky would kick them out.
  4. Same shoes indicate that the team comes first, not them.
  5. One half-hearted PC search for a MBB coach and no search for a FB coach (settling for the easy road when Bubba had already left). That the difference. NDSU always seems to have a coach in waiting, and if not, their willing to spend. Look at Wanless and Sac State. He finally got Katz, who can coach, and look what has happened to that program: a school that never won before in DI. An AD always has to have an idea of who would replace a coach if he leaves, commits fraud etc, dies. If the AD doesn't have a list, he should not have his job.
  6. Jacobson will probably a POY for the Slummit before he's done. Richman appears to be an upgrade over Phillips, as Ohio struggled in the MAC. ORU, IPFW, and Denver should be the powers in the Slummit. They pulled a Weber St this year though.
  7. He needs a toupee that grays over time.
  8. N Kentucky is probably the favorite, but then the Atlantic Sun would need more teams. The ASun could go after IUPUI or IPFW, although both want badly in the Horizon. If the Horizon goes to twelve, the Slummit could be cut off at its knees. IPFW plays baseball, and the Slummit cant afford to lose baseball teams if it wants to keep its autobid.
  9. If Jones was to let go, it would of happened yesterday. Probably too expensive a decision for Faison. Probably would cost at least $250k a year, with Jones salary plus a new coach and assistants. Who could we get for under $150k?
  10. Idaho needs to keep playing the Auburns and USCs, as they get a million each game. Last year, their game with Florida was canceled because of lightning, but the still got paid $1 mill. The CFP pays Idaho a million. If those go away, who's gonna pay the FCS bill, which isn't that much less? Idaho is fundraising for a new arena. If they drop to FCS, their fans would be in revolt and their won't be an arena.
  11. The Weber St board has rated the Big Sky MBB coaches. Jones came in last with the comment that he has no business being a Big Sky coach.
  12. NDSU is so desperate for publicity, they will move up with Idaho and pay every one else's FBS bills. NDSU is just loaded; after all they can only fund 58 FCS scholarships and is well short on Title IX.
  13. Idaho will receive notice from the Sun Belt after this season that their affiliation will not be renewed. Since Idaho has non conference FBS games scheduled through 2019, who is going to pay the millions for Idaho not meeting the requirements of the contracts? Dodd and you simply haven't done your homework. NDSU has a big Slummit game right now but you prefer to post here?
  14. Rich Glad was at least an ambassador for the team, who let his assistants coaches handle much of the x's and o's. With McDermott and Jacobson as assistants, the technical stuff was in good hands until they left. Jones seems to look at the PR side with disdain. The program needs a new start and new life.
  15. Montana was picked for like 8th in the Sky. Montana had a new coach, and all the media didnt give them a chance. But somehow, Montana ended up in first place and will host (and the women's tournament too). Montana turned a potentially disastrous season into lemonade. Maybe UND's AD can learn a lesson or two.
  16. Quite a feat for EGF. Maybe its time to put EGF among the NW elites like Warroad and Roseau. What's the secret to EGFs success? If GF schools put out talent like EGF does, they would never lose a ND game.
  17. Would think EGF is more like 90/10 or 80/20 UND. Even Crookston seems like 60/40 UND, although 'M' gear isn't so rare.
  18. It wasn't done before, so one can conclude that the REA Board doesn't want hard wood sports in the REA, but women's hockey is more than acceptable. Phil Jackson and Ralph Engelstad are mutually exclusive. Egos.
  19. Piping would have to be installed. The rows of retractable seats would have to be removed, possibly the restrooms too.
  20. Its been looked into and Faison etc has made a conscious decision to not have Bb in the Ralph. An NDSU game drew 7000 on a Tuesday and over 10,000 on a Saturday. Maybe the REA board objects or maybe the hockey coaches get pissed because they can't practice there. The women hockey team hasn't played a game in the Olympic rink for years: why is that? When the IPF is complete, the old Hyslop will no longer have a purpose. Make it into a bowl with decent seats and video screens. Could easily seat 6000. Turn the Betty into a women's hockey arena then. Weekends the Ralph doesn't get used for MHockey can be used for concerts or big MBB games. The Ralph should be put to use every weekend of the winter. It is, but women's hockey does not draw fans, so its a wasted asset for half the time. Put events there that do. The Sprint Center in KC makes a lot of money, but doesn't even have a pro team, as its busy all the time.
  21. Is this the last year of Jones' contract? If no buy out is necessary, their shouldn't be any excuse.
  22. A recent boundary change has some Ben Franklin kids going to Valley and Central. The N/S dividing line just keeps moving south.
  23. Your wife or gf needs to pump more babies out. GF will have to grow a lot bigger. The AFB used to be 1\3 of Centrals kids. Now what, 10%? South of 32nd Ave and west of I-29 is supposed to be a new growth area. That would be the area where a 3rd HS goes, if it ever comes to that. UAS industry has to take off in GF though. Much further south, the Thompson district would have be it. Further north, Manvel. Further west, Emerado/Larimore. The GFK school district is tiny, much like Fargo's. A lot of western Fargo kids go to WF.
  24. The Big Sky has one (UND). The Big 12 has maybe five: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Baylor, and WVU. Most of FBS doesn't have a med school, and many don't have law.
  25. Might have freshmen of the year candidates from Crandall and Seals too. UND MBB is looking up. If only we had coaching now.
