If it had been BC and BU, or BC and Michigan, then ESPN probably would have put BC in the night cap. Union is the reason that game is first.

I'm actually pretty sure that UND could go on indefinitely without a nickname, and the NCAA wouldn't care.
 -
I think the rationale behind the 6pm start to games in September is to just allow people to enjoy the remaining warm weather during the afternoon, rather than being inside during the nicest part of a fall day.

VB recruit Faith Dooley is playing in the quarterfinal of the State B girls BB tourney.

It would be awesome if UND could hold an event like this.

Some year, I actually plan to make it to a Big Sky Tournament. I think we have great travel options, especially if you're going to make a vacation out of it. Most of the Big Sky college campuses are close to ski resorts, major metro areas, and National Parks. Can't say the same with the Summit.

I see Louisiana Tech is playing for the Conference USA championship. Our group of seniors beat LA Tech in Grand Forks 2 or 3 seasons ago.

I got my tickets for Big Sky Tourney today!

I'm sure I speak for everybody in that I hope they just take care of business on Thursday, and leave everybody with no doubt.

My wife and I will be there to send out the seniors. It is a little sad that this will likely be the last time I ever see them play.

	Weber State is 13-4.

Play of the game - not only a great finish, but the basket came at a crucial time of the game, too.
 -
there's been 7 verbal commits since signing day, one of which was Chris Carter who was ooohed and ahhhed about. Just curious as to why all the chatter just all of a sudden stopped.
 -
So people just gave up on this topic?! There's been quite a bit of news since the last post.
 -
I read the full press release, and noticed that Pryor was as assitant coach at New Mexico State in 1999, so Faison probably knew him from then.
 -
That's why he was my last choice of the three, but maybe that was an anomoly.

I personally don't know for sure, but on the Jan. 22 GF Herald Sports Chat, a poster mentioned that the finalists were from Colorado (J.T. Wenger), Utah State (Jeremiah Larsen) and Baylor (Mark Pryor). http://undhockey.areavoices.com/?p=96367
 -
According the Herald writers, the interviews were last week, so we'll know very soon - possibly today.
 -
Anybody following any of the candidates on Twitter?
 -
When I looked at the list of applicants, I had a mental lapse and forgot that Boulder was the flagship campus of CU, so I didn't look up Wenger at first. I looked at Wenger's resume, and I have to say that it is impressive. I also like the fact that he's from Illinois originally, so that is the upper midwest connection that I failed to realize earlier. Like jjensen said, If those three really are the finalists, the volleyball program should be in great hands no matter who gets hired.

Over on the GF Herald sports chat, a person (whether or not s/he is credible is beyond me) stated the 3 interviews were from Baylor, Colorado, and Utah St.

So, we've been told that the search is down to 3. Who do you think the 3 are? The former Ole Miss coach (Joe Getzin) had some good seasons: 3 NCAA tournament appearences, twice named SEC coach of the year. But his last three seasons were all losing records. Utah State assitant coach (Jeremy Lawson) has been around a winning program at USU, and also was a member of a National Championship BYU men's team in 2001. I don't know who the third choice would be, but upper midwest connections seem to be lacking on that list, which is too bad. Someone mentioned that Dan Brown was not one of the finalists, though I thought he served UND well during his time with Hardee.

At the end of the 2013-14 season, if the team does not progress further than the 2012-13 season (either BSC W-L or post-season tourney), Jones should be on alert. He probably gets one more year (2014-15) to prove his case, but that should be it. I agree with Bin City - with the exeption of 2 games, this whole season has been a choke job. There's no way the 13-14 squad should perform worse than the 12-13 squad, but so far that is the case. This was the year I've been waiting for since 2011, and now I'm actually more excited about women's BB.

This is an awesome story. You never know what you do that might pay off in the end.
 -
Not that this means anything, but I did see Dan Brown at the men's BB game last week (Thursday, I think), so I'm guessing he's gonna use any chance he can to make an impression on the AD.
