Setters are fine. Maybe the hitters were just having a bad night - % was 0.1xx for one team and -0.0xx for the other at one point. Dooley was the most dominant. Her strength seems to have improved. Previous heavy hitters Moser and Julia K were not impressive. Amelia Johnson and Ashley Bruggeman may get playing time as freshmen. Baylor transfer Jordan Vail was really out of sync.
-
3rd set was a little more inspired play. Dooley was dominant at times. A few long rallies to keep it entertaining. It be interesting to see what happens when they are put in a game situation. We shall see on Friday night!

2nd set more lopsided 25-12. Play not a whole lot better. Dooley tried the cut shot a couple more times, but went wide both times. Merseli and Johnson each had some good contact. Vail can't get her jump timed with the set. And unfortunately, I don't know if Julia K will ever be her former self.

First set over 25-21. Unfortunately, I didn't see many flashes of brilliance. Lots of tips, soft spikes, and plenty of miscues. Best thing if the match was a Faith Dooley cut shot from the left side that hit around the 10-ft line. Hoping for more from set 2.

About 10 minutes away from the Green & White scrimmage. I will update best I can.

I still say to myself "I can't believe we actually did it." I guess I had forgotten that a season doesn't have to end with heartbreak.
-
That's where I was at, too. I was watching with my dad, and told him that I wouldn't be satisfied until the clock was at 0:00. He told me, "you're sick!"

I've watched the first and third periods of the natty game probably a dozen times. I watched the second period a couple times, and that's actually pretty entertaining, too. I was laid up the other night, so I decided to watch the Denver game in its entirety, which I don't think I had done since it was live. I'll have to check out the NE and Mich games on Youtube at some point, as I don't have those on the DVR.
-
I don't know. Pony Express nor Pacific Rim didn't win the natty. Plus they're a mouthful. At least Hrkac Circus had assonance.

2012 championship game: 18,818; 2016 championship game: 19,358 (3rd highest all-time, trails 2007 championship by less than 100. Hard to see 2010 in Ford Field ever being beat with 37k) I read the semi-finals were slightly higher in 2012, but cannot find the article. 2012 participants were BC, Minnesota, Ferris St., and Union. So two big schools, and two small schools.

The now defunct Inside College Hockey website made a similar claim after the 2012 frozen four. Unfortunately, I can't find the link/story, but they were very high on the Frozen in Tampa.
-
This coming from a non-hockey mind: The difference I see between this year's team and any other that I've watched in the last decade is the passing. It always seems to be tape to tape.

For Place, it definitely wasn't for lack of playing time. Pryor never took her out. I'm guessing she'll be a rock star for Augustana.

I like the hashtag #leavenodoubt, as in don't make it an option for the selection committee to screw 'em over.

Does anyone know if hockey games are on TV in Winnipeg?
-
I'm pretty sure we'll play with a HUGE chip on our shoulder next year. I'm predicting getting the Big Sky auto bid.

Is the game over yet?

Score and time update?

Time left?

What is the score now?

What is our rooting interest in the NAU- SUU game?

To me, it's the saving grace of the name. I can't wait to see a "F'Hawk the ______" poster at a sporting event.
-
Technically, the Vandals had never played the Fighting Hawks before, so they were not 0-4 against them.
-
And the Fighting Hawks era begins with a season-ending loss for volleyball. They just weren't the same without Julia K. Glad she still has a couple years left for us. McKenzie, you will be missed
