This is just my recollection, so actual play by play may differ from my memory. It seems that when the run game wasn't working right away, he went to the passing game, which is what most people wanted to see him do against Utah. since studsrud and his receivers were able to make several plays, the passing game opened up the running game for later when Santiago and Johanneson and Oliveira were able to shine. The only other thing that I was hoping for was a nifty first play from scrimmage to really get the crowd excited.

Pretty much every one had the offensive score in the ball park. No one had the shut out, though.

25-19 set 3 for the sweep. Got some underclassmen in, so there were a few hiccups there. Probably lost 4 points due to that. But they need the playing time.

Much easier second set win 25-13. Only one girl on SDSU has had any dominating spikes.

25-22 first set win. While I never thought the set was in doubt, SDSU made some nice adjustments. I think we clean house the rest of the way.

Disappointing crowd considering there's a home football game today. I wonder if these 11 am Saturday start times will affect attendance throughout the season.

That's true. It didn't require a whole lot of action on the part of the crowd.

I've been a season ticket holder for volleyball for 5-6 years, and attended several games in the Hardee years as well. The crowd was actually pretty docile given its size. It kind of felt like the first year at the Ralph - people were there just to be there (albeit with many good reasons), and weren't necessarily in tune with what was going on. I've seen a normal size VB crowd (~1,100) provide more clapping, cheering, etc. With all that being said, it would be good to get some more fans to come back often and get them literate on volleyball. This was the perfect opportunity to get them interested, and the team capitalized on it.

Absolutely. Two setters in 7 seasons is rare. That would like having two starting QBs in 7 seasons. It takes out a huge X-factor when you know what you're getting from your setter.

Still a little off on her timing it seems, but she's better than last year, and she could be a force when it all comes together.

Hopefully the girls put on a show tonight! This is looking like it could be the best team in UND volleyball history. I would expect nothing less than a victory.

It's not a bad thing to experience as a player, coach, or fan - you realistically believe you have a chance to win no matter what, and that's pretty exciting.
