Looks like that happened in 2004. Still unsure if that was the year the team stated the whole week, but certainly could have been UND did host Michigan Tech in the WCHA first round in 2008, but not the regular season final weekend.

Would have to look up the year, but I feel like UND hosted Michigan tech two weekends in a row around 2008. Not sure if the team stayed in GF, though.

Interestingly, CBS Sports Network has Miami (OH) at Western Michigan in college basketball right now.

The NPI is not a concern of mine. The #1 overall seed is all but out of reach, and I don't see much advantage/disadvantage from being #2, #3, or #4. Even dropping to #5, I am guessing the committee still places UND in Sioux Falls, since none of the #1 seeds would be a natural geographic fit. We would sacrifice last line change in that scenario, but that's about it. I do want to win the Penrose and have home ice all through the conf. playoffs, so I don't consider that a misplaced priority.
