  1. This was especially true back when MSC televised every Gopher game while WDAZ only did a few Sioux games.
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nlYz-o6ZJ8 It happened around 1:37:20 mark (hard to see live) and then replay of it from a better angle about a minute later.
  3. I also have a Sioux-Gopher memory that wasn't a win. In fact, it was the infamous 0.6 seconds game. Before that turn of events, one of the Sioux players sent a Gophers' stick high into the air. I laughed so hard and was a nice distraction from fingernail biting of the 3rd period.
  4. Pretty sure UND had a huge penalty kill (5 on 3 for an extended time?? or something like that) on Saturday night. Does that sound familiar?
  5. Just for clarification, the "them" I was referring to was any Freshman who hasn't played any or many games, not just Tai or Rucker.
  6. Yup, I remember that one being big as well. The very next year Blais completed the rebuild by being WCHA co-champs (with Minnesota), beating the Gophers in the Final Five championship, and then on to the Natty.
  7. Since there are 5 regular season games left, could maybe play them against UNI this weekend and sit out one of the other games, like Murray St. or Indiana St. Could still use them for USD and Illinois St. in that scenario. Can't remember who all has played and in how many games. I think Tai has been in one so far?? Could perhaps see a Jerry sighting later in the season, especially in mop-up duty against certain teams.
  8. This was the clincher. Just needed something to light the spark. After that, the fire burned pure.
  9. Still a rivalry, but not as much fun since it's not 2 series every season, and no conference points/standings on the line. UND and Minn used to own the WCHA regular season, so competing with them for points and inevitably playing them in the conference tournament was all part of the fun. You might have to play them 5 or 6 times in one season, with each one building a crescendo of importance (reg season, conf tourney, NCAA tourney).
  10. There's some obvious ones: the timeout, Porter's wraparound, Bina's 180' shorty, Trupp's bat out of mid-air, etc. A series of games that stand out to me happened in 2009. In January, the Gopher's come to the Ralph highly ranked (maybe top 3?) and I believe the Sioux were unranked and about to start one of their famous second half turnarounds under Hakstol. Sioux put on a clinic and unleash on 'em: 6-3 Friday and 6-1 Saturday. Tons of scrums in the Saturday game. Then the next season, in October 2009, in the Friday night game, the Sioux won 4-0 in similar style and the crowd is chanting "Just like last year."
  11. I was told once that UND never copyrighted the interlocking logo, but Notre Dame did.
  12. What a great game to have recruits at. Hope it pays off several dividends.
  13. That’s definitely a game changer when it comes to roster management.
  14. So you can play 4 regular season games PLUS all playoff games and retain eligibility?
  15. Was the UNI game the MVFC game of the week last year? I know that was on ESPN3 because I watched it through my cable subscription (and I don’t subscribe to ESPN+).
  16. Was UND required to retire the interlocking ND, or was it a decision by the university ? I figured since it had no Native American imagery it would be allowed to stay.
  17. Ok, thanks. I was wondering about that.
  18. No idea, but it was glorious, whatever it was.
  19. I love the interlocking ND logo. It is my favorite of any UND logo of any sport. (I’d like to see the hockey jerseys get these on their shoulders again). Is using it every game against our “legacy” agreement when it comes to imagery, or could we do that?
  20. I personally like the “Skokna game.” Had 3 touchdowns including the kickoff return to set the tone. Gave the “horns down” right the face of a Bison defender in the end zone. Talked about wanting to rehab his injury so he could beat these guys. I mentioned earlier how happy I am for Tommy and Bubba, and i should have mentioned Skokna too.
  21. Yep. Been saying that for a while. The program changed today.
  22. Happy for Tommy to get this win under his belt. It was certainly possible for him to own (and I mean REALLY own) all the quarterback records, but yet never beat NDSU. This win cements his legacy much more. Also happy for Bubba. He maybe could have had a couple more shots at this victory before he hangs it up, but glad he doesn’t have to think about never beating them. wonderful day all around.
  23. Glad we beat them, but good luck to them. The Badgers can tear through the Big Ten as far as I’m concerned.
  24. Yep. Celebrate tonight, then get ready for UNI. Like I said, now the belief is there.
