  1. Finished with 41, I believe.
  2. Hell of a performance tonight. Hopefully it carries over tomorrow. Eaglestaff’s big quarterfinal performance last year translated to nothing the next game.
  3. What a game for Greyson.
  4. Even with top guys out, our depth will prevail over these guys.
  5. They can play 4 in total even if they sweep this weekend. No need to play an extra game at this point.
  6. Not that it matters too much, but I wonder if Alex doing PxP is confirmed, or just an assumption. He was broadcasting from the Summit League BB Tournament last night for Midco, and with CBSSN doing games later in the weekend, he's also done a lot of work for them.
  7. And why is TODAY hate day? Are they talking about the Summit League Basketball game between UND and Denver? The next time UND and Denver could possibly play in hockey won't be until March 21.
  8. I dug into the various conference and NCAA championships won by UND. The Trifecta has been completed 3 times - 1980, 1987, 1997 Winning 2 of 3 has been completed 8 times, with the following combinations: Conference Regular Season and Conference Tournament - 1967, 1979, 2011, 2021 Conference Regular Season and NCAA Championship - 1963, 1982, 2016 Conference Tournament and NCAA Championship - 2000 Winning Only One has been completed 16 times: NCAA - 1959 (UND was Independent that season, so there was no conference championships to win) Conference Regular Season* - 1958, 1965, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2009, 2015, 2020, 2022, 2024 Conference Tournament - 1968, 2006, 2010, 2012 *I did not count the 2026 Conference Regular Season, since 2026 may (hopefully will) fall into one of the other categories.
  9. I am thinking Sodbuster was speaking tongue in cheek.
  10. To me, there's no reason why the win streak can't start now. You've got conference playoffs in your home rink. The NCAA regional venue is in a neighboring state. And, oh yeah, you're the host institution at the first ever Las Vegas Frozen Four.
  11. They were the lower seed (#3). Quinnipiac was #1 overall.
  12. Can UND just request to wear green for any game, regardless of home/away/seed? The other team has a say about agreeing to it, right? How about when NCAA time comes? I am trying to think of a time when a team wore a jersey that was the opposite of their seed (higher seed = home, lower seed = away) in the NCAA.
  13. I was thinking about this. If our time in the NCAA tournament is short-lived, and we ask the question "was the season a success?" I would confidently answer "YES!" I know we measure success by Nattys, but to be NCHC regular season champs and (almost) guaranteed #1 seed (possibly the overall #1 seed), with what the program was 11 months ago, all of that would have seemed very far-fetched. Unbelievable job by the everyone involved.
  14. I wouldn't doubt our whole staff is being eyed, especially with a regular season conference championship executed in a one-year rebuild.
  15. Same as NCAA playoffs. 5x5 OT until a winning goal.
  16. You must have missed my post back on page 162.
  17. I've been looking at the formats for the other conference tournaments: As aforementioned, the Big Ten plays another weekend of regular season series, then single-game quarterfinals mid-week, then the semi-finals and championship are at home sites of the higher seeds. The CCHA uses the same format and schedule as the NCHC. Atlantic Hockey actually starts their playoffs this upcoming Wednesday, which serve as play-in games to the quarterfinals, so they have 4 rounds of playoffs. Games are played at home sites of higher seeds. The ECAC is similar to AHA in that they have play-in games to the quarterfinals, but those games are next weekend, not mid-week. They accomplish this by hosting the semi-finals and championship on the same weekend at a neutral site (Lake Placid), much like all conferences used to do. And lastly, Hockey East still has another weekend of the regular season, then mid-week play-in games to the quarterfinals, then single-game quarterfinals at home sites, then the semi-finals and championship at the TD Garden in Boston. I don't know if any one of these formats is inherently better than any other. A lot of it has to do with how many teams are in the conference and their proximity to a good neutral site venue. It would be nice to whittle down the conference playoffs to 2 weekends. It just seems odd that a conference tournament needs to take longer than the NCAA tournament. Maybe reduce the number of teams that make the conference tournaments? It would place more emphasis on the regular season if only semi-finals and championship games were played.
  18. Looks like the Big Ten has mid-week, single game quarterfinals. So, it only shaves off a few days of a team not playing if they happen to lose their quarterfinal game but still eligible for the NCAA.
  19. What was the reason to sit livanavage? Is he nursing something or Just saving his minutes for the stretch run?
