I think I (along with many others) was probably a little too focused on the records of potential coaches, and less on what their outside experience could bring to the table. If you recall, I was pretty big on Bolte, Caruso, and Woodley, all phenomenal coaches at a lower level. But seeing Schmidt these last few days is like opening your eyes to the 2020s of college football, and I don't think any of those aforementioned names could have done that in the way Schmidt has. Big upgrade for UND to have that FBS knowledge of what high-end kids are going to be focused on. Big time excited for the future.
