  1. This team cannot catch a break can it....not looking good. I wonder if this was in practice because Gothberg looked fine on Saturday.
  2. Very true....I would like that a lot.
  3. http://www.uscho.com/2014/01/22/minnesota-former-in-state-conference-foes-break-up-second-half-with-new-tourney/ In this article Donny notes “We thought we could replicate the success of the Final Five,” said Lucia, “but with everyone knowing in advance who’d be there. We were hoping we could grow this to be as exciting as the Final Five.” I think they are missing the #1 ingredient on why the Final Five was so successful.
  4. Wilkie has sure been hot lately....I am starting to think I was a tad hard on him earlier in the year. Either way I think Poganksi must play another year of juniors and it would be a good idea for Wilkie to as well. I'm guessing Wilkie would be one of the top USHL players next year or at least be a pt/gm type of guy.
  5. I honestly think MIami is going to make a push. I saw we sweep DU this weekend and split the Miami weekend.
  6. Ding ding ding....yes the comparison should not be there. I agree with your initial assessment.
  7. Those employers own the CHL.
  8. I agree with everything you just said. I respect the players in the CHL because that league is beyond awesome, however the sleezy stuff mgmt does is terrible. The league started to get nervous during the mid-2000s when some top notch prospects starting heading to school rather than Canada....then they went full court press. If my son was talented enough and was a blue-chipper I would still send him to college no matter what he said....it's character building. I have a buddy I skate with in the summers who was drafted early second round, averaged over a point per game all through 4 years (each season for that matter), and still couldn't cut it. It wasn't that he wasn't talented enough, it was because his body could never hold up through an 82 game season with those gladiators. My point being, school would be the number one option in my mind because no matter how talented you are, nobody can predict what you will do in the NHL, except those super elite players. Even Toews and Crosby have had some head injuries already, one has to wonder how many more they can withstand.
  9. Well my only counter would be what you need to work on. One league has older players the other has a majority of the top talent in the entire world. For him, I think that going against bigger older competition would have helped him more as he is skinny and has offensive skill. If size wasn't an issue and he needed to work on his offensive game I would have said head north. I am not going to argue against the top developmental league in the world because that won't carry too much weight outside of this forum, however leaving the team mid-season is my one and only problem.
  10. He was underestimating the difficulty of the leauge, in regards to playing against older competition.
  11. I can feel 6 pts....boys will coming out buzzing this weekend. As long as Dave B. gives us a positive prediction.....the guy is a cooler to the fullest
  12. I'm blown away as well with how bad this conference has been. Hopefully this is the outlier year, I still am shocked when I see 5-6 teams with more losses than us so far ahead of us in the PW. The fact Mankato gets the nod instead of us is a crime.
  13. That's funny you are trying to knock an NHL goalie who is currently a starter. How many UND goalies have been an NHL starter....recently?
  14. At the end of the day a very veteran NDSU team played a pretty avg big 12 team that had almost completely replaced their offense and defense. It was almost a best case scenario for the bison. Also the bison still had to win on a last second drive. K state won their bowl game but overall this year it was a down year. Most of you have to remember that k states schedule and the gophers schedule is so much harder than the bisons (obviously). The bison had one reasonably hard game all year (kstate). Kstate and the gophs have somewhat hard games (sorry SEC fan here) every game except the cupcake fcs games. What I'm trying to say is that if NDSU had to play a big ten schedule they may have had 1....maybe two big ten wins against the cellar teams.
  15. So this weekend actually hurt us. What a mess.
  16. Scrivens is an awesome backup....he would be a great college goalie in my mind if we are talking about the Scrivens I am thinking of.
  17. I don't know man....watched last nights game and bemidji had just as many actual scoring chances as we did. 95% of our shots were layups for that tendy. If Rocco would have dished that pill instead of going logo we win. BSU looked so bad.
