  1. Actually Brock had like 20 some points his freshman year.....tambo was on pace for half of that.
  2. Haha I like it. Why don't we replace Tambo with Gage Hough (Omaha Lancers).
  3. So what's the lineup this weekend boys.....Panz playing center this weekend?
  4. We've got reasonably high drafted defensemen however most of our forwards (other than Rocco) were later on. Anyone drafted past the third round is a "cross-your-fingers" type of player from an NHL perpective....or else they would have been drafted higher. I would rather UND pull in those kids that dominate the USHL....that league is getting so good lately. Again, we are bringing in good defensemen (Poolman, mantha) that are excelling at the USHL level however only Schmaltz and Gersich are doing above average in that league and gersich's USHL numbers are pretty average. I know they are younger than most but that is what got us into this issue in the first place....getting immature (physically) players that struggle at the college level. That's actually why I liked the Simonson pick up....he'll play four years and he's actually producing at the USHL level. UND has been focusing so much on their defensemen that we're losing out on top notch forwards. I'm not on the ledge but would like some tweaks in recruiting methodology going forward. I think it is fine to get that blue chipper every so often but make sure the team around him is solid so that kid produces. If you only look at blue chippers and a handful of maybe's one or two defections instantly knocks your squad down a level or two. Just my 8 cents
  5. Go to USHL.com and check out a few names leading the league in scoring...then check out where they are going. #Blais
  6. I was waiting for someone to jump all over that one,
  7. I believe the team he subsequently went to was trying to make a title run...which they ended up doing his second year.
  8. He left because he is having a terrible season and they are in full blown panic mode regarding his development as a player. If he's sitting on a third line he's not developing at the rate the Rangers and his family want. If he goes to the WHL he most likely will do better given that he is playing against younger/less physically mature players. He will also get PP time up there. The falacy that those kids in the Dub don't work out and get bigger is a joke. However, the fact that he went against his word, left his team out to dry for not only this season, but next as well shows the character of this kid and his family. I don't knock anyone for going the CHL route if they so choose, however, I firmly believe that if you commit to a program you at least stay the year (or two) to get acclimated to that league. Both the CHL and NCAA routes are very good but leaving early January is a joke. This sounds terrible but I do not wish this kid the best. Also, he was traded while in the BCHL.
  9. You know....I am really starting to wonder what the heck is going on back home.
  10. Calling out a GF legend??? Huge Sioux fan here but that comment was bush.
  11. They got approval.... we didn't in time. Sucks though, we had the best logo in sports.
  12. Ive seen him play too... kids good.
  13. Ha, you know it. Hak better get these boys going starting this coming weekend.
  14. We need a sweep bad this weekend. A loss against a terrible CC team will bury us. However the boys need to show up.... major motivational issues on this team, but its not like this is a surprise.
  15. Wow so I was close....I called a 5-4 ot win, ha that's great. Looks like they made their notorious comeback against the Canadian club team, what effort!
  16. Bethune and Roth are both very good players. Their schedule is very easy so I would be interested to see what they did at the USHL level. Roth is tiny but very skilled he'll make a good 4 year college player if he keeps progressing. I'm guessing Roth won't get much bigger than 5'6"/7". Bethune may be very good, again I simply haven't seen him play against top competition. Looks as though those boys go nuts against those small schools.
  17. In every scenario you mentioned it was one team against another from the same league. To correct you example it would be mich vs appalation state....and that mich team was a mess.
  18. From their schedule it appears Manitoba beat up on UBC.
  19. Regarding your last paragraph, you are very right. We are on a 5 game win streak so the boys need to focus going forward. However, given the purpose of why they went up there in the first place it makes no sense to lay an egg…..their compete level was nil. Also, give me one other game in the last 25 years that was a worse loss than that? UBC is in second to last place in their league.
  20. My issue was the way they lost and why they went up there in the first place. I watched the entire game….they played awful, actually they looked like the worst college hockey team I have ever witnessed. I seriously thought I was watching an NA game. I guarantee UAH would have went in there and beat them up pretty good. The reason they went up there was to showcase their skills….and were beat by a below average Canadian school. Now we have to play some club team today. I really wished they would have simply scheduled some good US teams…all this did was make college hockey look worse. My prediction 5-4 OT UND win. http://www.gothunderbirds.ca/schedule.aspx?path=mhockey
