  1. Saw this on fb....I swear some people aren't busy enough. I was just reading through the fb post and people are debating this vs that and I'm thinkng to myself, what is this world coming to? I swear, this country is more racially charged than any other time in my life (born in '84). Every other day it's race this and race that. I just can't remember a time in my life where the race card had been pulled more. People want chance, but this is making it worse. Those kids weren't trying to be racist.
  2. Where do you think I got that info
  3. Agree 100%, I remember Schroeder in HS....wow! His tenure at MN was pretty vanilla.
  4. They're both a lot....compared to the average NHL defensemen. Suter sure did get a nice contract, timing is everything. FYI, Seabrook has a salary of $5M this year (cap hit of $5.8M) and Suter has $12M this year ($7.54M cap hit).
  5. Seabrook does have a nice contract though. He is also very similar to Suter, as a player, in my mind.
  6. I'm sure Lucia and York dislike the agreement, they both live in the two hockey hot beds in the us.
  7. I was never a kid who got teased a lot, but I got some ribbing from buddies/teammates, etc. When I was in grade school I would get into fights every so often with other youngsters who I didn't get along with. I guess it's about sticking up for yourself. I think this girl needed some motivation on how to stick up for herself, there is a reason why she is being bullied while other are not. Bullies suck, but there will always be bullies. Her parents will not always be around for her so someone must teach her how to live in this world. I am not trying to give any life lessons but it is apparent to me that this girl needs some help, not for her parents to post her crying all over the internet. Bullies feed off that stuff. The teasing may go away but she will always be "that girl" in Fosston. This just creates more attention.
  8. At 8....yes, maybe even earlier. I honestly think how one is able to handle these situations is part of survival mode. Also, I have been picked on before...more than once and I was able to handle it. It's how you carry yourself. Some people get picked on others don't. The people who get picked on seem to have that problem for most of their life...at least from what I've seen. Her parents need to teach her how you handle these situations. If I would have ran crying home from school, my pops would have sat me down and taught me how to handle the situation. I should rephrase that, my father DID teach me how to handle these situations before they even occured. Again, I am no expert on what it feels like to be bullied, but I have seen many kids/adults bullied before and it seems to follow them. You have to stick up for yourself at some point in time. As to the second point....bullying doesn't ever go away.
  9. Ditto. They definitely have figured out Crosby's only weakness.
  10. Ok, I have one child and another on the way. I am also younger so I still remember how kids act at school. I am most likely in the minority here but what was that parent thinking posting that to FB? I guarantee the teasing only gets worse....that's how kids are. I truly do not believe teasing is worse today than it was when I was younger....most of you have been removed from school for awhile. Kids have to learn how to deal with bullies...it's part of life and believe me, it does not go away when you are older. I believe there is a reason why some people (kids and adults) get picked on and others don't. You have to have thick skin, you have to know how to handle these situations. It's part of life. I do feel bad for this girl though, her parents on the other hand I question how they are going about this. Sorry if my post offends anyone.
  11. I agree with you, it seems like those One off Canadian junior leagues are pretty risky. Personally I like players who have went through a USHL season....as that league is even much better than the BCHL (which is the top Canadian junior league).
  12. If Rocco could have told Hak a few weeks earlier they could have made an offer to gage hough (or whatever his last name is). He would have provided some depth.
  13. One of my buddies sent me a twitter feed yesterday noting guentzel was not interested or at least not a candidate.
  14. I could be wrong but think gersich should play juniors for one more year. His numbers were pretty vanilla considering the team he played on. They put up huge numbers. It appears he may have had a third line role. Good skater though, he will be a top 6 player so he should work on his craft one more year. Adding a little muscle wouldn't hurt either.
  15. I agree with you a lot and I too think he should have played one more year but that would be because of the team next year and the success they will probably have. However I am not going to knock the kid for giving it a try. Fla will give him a shot....I will be shocked if he actually makes it some day as a regular but 70k is 70k. He's not going to make that out of school doing anything else. Also, I heard he basically has his degree and is planning to knock out 3-4 classes. These guys go to the AHL, either make the big leagues or they head to Europe and make good money. They come home and typically find good jobs in sales. Rocco seems to be a bright guy with a decent head on his shoulders, when hockey is done I'm guessing he will be relatively successful.
  16. Should Hak change his recruiting style??? Nah
  17. Sure...he definitely wasn't my lock to be up there. I could see Hak starting him up there.
  18. Depends....Potulny was the highest paid player a few years ago making $400 I believe but there was something funny with his contract being 1 way I believe. Players will make anywhere from 70-100 I believe. Go to capgeek.com. More than he'd make if he wasn't playing hockey
  19. Hopefully Murphy figures his game out, I really was thinking he would be a freshman contributor last year. I would put OD up top and have an all senior line. I like Olson on that pattyn line. I'm indifferent on that second line. Maybe chyzk instead of Johnson, depending on what he brings next year. Pattyn, Johnson and gaarder?
  20. Who knows. Players in the A can make good money too. I'm over this. If I am in his position I may do the same thing too. I was really hoping he would stay too but when he came I was hoping for at least 2 years. He's technically been on campus for 3. Rocco plays at a high speed, he may put up the same numbers in the A. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt he'll have a long term career as an NHLer. If that doesn't work he'll still make good money in the A and then Europe.
  21. The team is one year older with some nice freshman coming in. They'll be alright. I think MN stays that far ahead of UND as it pertains to next year however our team will still be good.
  22. Haha...however I use Natty all the time. Much easier from an iphone.
  23. Damn.
  24. I went last night, although my squad lost it was a pretty crazy atmosphere. I have never been to a rink so loud before.
