I've been worried about Johnson and what kind of player he will be. His junior numbers were nice (especially considering his age) and freshman numbers were decent for a freshman (although he was getting top 6 minutes including pp time). Everyone knows he has a great shot and also makes passes but I think his skating has to drastically get better for him to make an impact at this level. I can't tell if he loafs sometimes or if his skating is that average. I should be fair he's not a terrible skater but his stride is pretty choppy for a shorter player (not 6 ft plus).

Regarding this topic I get what you are attempting to convey, however, it won't be heard with open ears. It is only going to come across negatively on this site.

I have no idea. Personally, I feel that giving a coach (a good, winning coaching such as Hak) 15-20 years to pull down 1 natty is enough time given the tools and coaching staff we have to build teams.. My 3-4 years comment was slightly "off the hip". Anywhere in the 15-20 year range. But to your point, I'm honestly not sure. And judging by the previous message, we probably shouldn't even be talking about this....the boys look real good right now. I always get sucked into these conversations

I hope you weren't thinking I was one of those fans. Either way, I hear the 7>5 chant by UND pretty much every post season. Go check the messages after we lost to UM last season. Again, I'm fine with all the success we've had over the past 10-11 years. I'm more disgusted in the outcomes of some of those big games. I'm all for Hak however I'm not going to sit here and mock those who question whether time has run its course or not. It's been awhile since we've had success in the F4 given how many times we've been there and lost. I get it.

Natty trumps all. That's why we brag to goph fans all the time, because we have more than any other program other than michigan. Haks consistently put out a great product however the next time we get to the frozen 4 I would like to take it down. It's been awhile given how often we get there.

I actually agree with him. BC has a crop of young (highly talented) kids and they have been missing Santini (defensive anchor) for almost a month now I believe. I would guess that BC would get much better by the end of the year as compared to their current state. They were actually solid before Santini was hurt.

I am definitely not a CHL guy nor am I a fan of their recruiting practices, however, there is definitely a misconception on this forum about those leagues. First off, the reason there is more scoring is because most teams are top heavy (first rounders playing against kids who will never make it past the CHL, in some cases players with NHL experience playing against 17 year old kids who are very average). Secondly, these kids do have time to work out and the coaching is very very good. It is arguably the best NHL development league for 16-20 year olds in the world. However, it really depends on when kids "figure it out". Poolman is a great example. He figured the game out at an older age so playing a few years of NCAA hockey will help him out if he wants to give pro hockey a try in the future. To me, if I was a bigger kid with potential, however I really needed to work on my offensive game (Michael McCarron) I think the CHL leagues would develop me quicker than NCAA hockey (depending on which conference you played in I guess). If I was an extremely gifted offensive player and would put up roughly 2 points per game at any level under the NHL/AHL I would go the NCAA route to continue to develop against bigger, faster, stronger players (ex. Nic Petan). Some of those kids in the CHL leagues put up so many points it's nuts and they continually are sent back to the CHL where they have absolutely nothing else to prove. They are almost stuck in limbo.

In looking at LSSU's gamelog, they sure give up a lot og goals. We need to get a few early both nights.

All your points are spot on, however I do think +/- is a valuable stat. Tambo's #12 is good though.

As for the difference between CHL and NCAA, the CHL has more high end prospects (on average) while the NCAA has older, more mature, players. Neither option is the best option, it all depends on what you are looking for.

Agreed. Yeah, I forgot about Mankato. Tops in PW but did play a terrible opponent. Could make sense though.

Agreed. Additionally, these high end kids want to play with other good players to ensure their stats are good.

Again we looked much better than uno, they took a ton of perimeter shots. One thing, we almost let the game go in the third. Shocked we can lay down in the third. Either way a wins a win. Boys can work on things next weekend.

You could be right, haven't went back and watched. However he had more than enoug time to settle down and dump the puck. He acted too quickly and sauced it off the glass right to their defender. Veteran players should know better. I have backed him for a bit but didn't think he played very well last night. However, to your point, there were several players that didn't play sharp last night.
