  1. I agree with the und players. I don't think minny loses anyone. I can't remember if BC has two seniors on that top line however both players will leave....and I'm not taking about gudreau, he'll be back. Union will loses shayne G.
  2. I think the gophers are a more consistent team....that's all. They find ways not to lose and that is a very good team characteristic. However, if both teams are playing well or bad for that matter it's a wash. The talent is very similar.
  3. I would be absolutely blown away if voltin makes it here. I think unds recruiting class will take a little hit with Gropp not coming here....on paper at least. I do think schmaltz, Simonson, Olson and poolman will contribute from day one though.
  4. Agreed, he needs one good USHL season.
  5. So there is going to be one decent big ten team next year? Michigan lost key players too however I guess they do have Larkin coming in and copp and that ginger kid will be juniors.
  6. When were we only talking about ref signals? You noted that not once has slew footing ever been called in a game; you also noted that the term slew footing is an ambiguous term not an official penalty....in both cases I proved you wrong.
  7. ....and you are wrong. However the signal is the same as tripping. I just wanted to point out, as someone who has played the game for over 20 years, slew footing is a very serious penalty, is very dangerous and......you are wrong.
  8. FYI slew footing has been called (Rylan Schwartz CC vs UAA 2011)...I win. There was also a yale brown game where it was called. I am sure there are many others, that's just college hockey. Haha, a very smart man once told me to never use absolute words (never, all, etc.) because someone will prove you wrong everytime. This one was great. SCPA0305 - 1 DaveK - 0....haha http://collegehockey...es/makacc_1.d09
  9. That's super funny....how delusional you are.
  10. I get that. I meant they have a very veteran first line (2 of which will be regular NHL players....I'm not even talking about Gudreau (sp?)). They have very good incoming freshman...most were top recruits. Their young defensemen were all awesome with 1-2 being blue chippers and they have a blue chip tendy (who's still like 17 or something crazy like that). I meant their team is built very well, having the experienced top line they do their younger players can play against other team's lower lines.
  11. I laugh at some people...they start watching the game at 40, reading a little bit on the internet and now they are experts. Slew footing is a very common term that has been around for a very long time.
  12. http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=27011 - see rule 52 Rule 52 - Slew-footing 52.1 Slew-footing - Slew-footing is the act of a player or goalkeeper using his leg or foot to knock or kick an opponent’s feet from under him, or pushes an opponent’s upper body backward with an arm or elbow, and at the same time with a forward motion of his leg, knocks or kicks the opponent’s feet from under him, causing him to fall violently to the ice. 52.2 Match Penalty - Any player who is guilty of slew-footing shall be assessed a <a href=http://www.nhl.com/i...id=26304">match penalty. 52.3 Fines and Suspensions - There are no specified fines or suspensions for slew-footing, however, supplementary discipline can be applied by the Commissioner at his discretion (refer to Rule 28).
  13. You didn't even know that slew-footing was a penalty. You sit on here and troll everyday.
  14. I hate to say this....but they have better players. However in a one and done situation I think we can beat them if we get by MN first. I know we have 14 draft picks or whatever but the have a lot too. They also have a pretty old/experienced team. Oh yeah...they have Johnny Hockey.
  15. Ok sorry, I never get those dang smiley's
  16. I didn't mean the old ring it around the boards hard....I meant the soft flop into the opposite corner....didn't you watch the Olympics? Some of those Scandinavian teams have it mastered. Also, what 'experts' are you even talking about? On a side noting, dump and chase is the ONLY way to beat the trap....it was designed to stop heavy skating teams (Russians, Swedes, Finns, etc.).
  17. Dave....come on man....you know absolutely nothing about hockey. This has been so evident in my time in this forum. Seriously, it is so obvious you have never actually played the game.
  18. Flop shots into the corner and attack with speed.
  19. Yup....the difference is they have the best first line in hockey. They also are super deep with top notch defensemen and a full blown blue chipper goalie. That's why they look better
  20. It's not the system. Consistency (to start the year(s)) has been the issue, in my mind motivation has been an issue and compete level has been an issue.
  21. I've watched the replay many times. I stand by my initial comments.
  22. Oh I understand that.....to me it's not the system. The systems a proven winner, that's why 100% of nhl systems run it. Not every team plays a conservative trap but everyone plays a dump and chase system to some point. Go watch an nhl game. Hak's system is an nhl style system. It's the application that was problem, not the system.
